Marry First, Love Later Ch.5

Chapter 5- Are both of you willing?

A few glasses of alcohol later, Yao QiQi was lying on the counter, crying and cursing at that horrible woman when the bar owner poured her a glass of water.

“You’re tolerance is so low and yet you still stubbornly drank this much…you really should stop…” Before the bar owner could finish, Yao QiQi’s cell phone started ringing.

“Hey, someone is calling you, can you answer it?” The bar owner tapped her drunk customer’s arm.

Yao QiQi swatted her hand away, “Wei Ran is a fu*king cun*t!”

Bar owner: “…”

The phone was still ringing, the other party’s patience was almost godlike.

With no other option, the bar owner picked up the phone, “Hello, who is this?”

The other side was silent for a while when they whispered, “Where is she?”

The bar owner got confused before she realized, “Ah, you must be one of Yao QiQi’s friends. Hmm, well, she drank herself stupid so can you come pick her up?”

Yao QiQi’s sexual orientation was known to all her friends so as soon as the bar owner heard the other side’s voice she guessed that there was an eighty percent chance that the other was Yao QiQi’s new girlfriend. Just from her voice alone, the owner could tell she wasn’t a bad person.

When Xie Lan arrived, the bar was a little crowded. She wore a dark, casual outfit, and had her hair down. Her delicate features and serious temperament paired with her well dressed appearance attracted many pairs of eyes.

A face she didn’t know and a beautiful appearance, the bar owner guessed that this was Yao QiQi’s new girlfriend.

Everyone knew Yao QiQi was a sucker for a beautiful face, but this time she had really found a treasure!

Xie Lan walked over to the bar counter and seeing the completely drunk Yao QiQi, her brows furrowed again.

“Wei Ran, how many times do I have to tell you not to bother me! Watch out or else my mother is going to beat you to a pulp!”

“I don’t love you anymore…not one bit…so scram you piece of…sh*t!”

Xie Lan: “….”

She had watched the live stream where Yao QiQi scolded and spilled the news to millions of fans. Thinking back to that tone and expression she witnessed, Xie Lan wanted to erase it from memory.

Besides feeling distressed for Yao QiQi , she also felt a little…angry.

Xie Lan leaned down and grabbed Yao QiQi’s shoulders, trying to help her up.

Unexpectedly, Yao QiQi gave her a hard slap, “Go away! Don’t touch me!”

Xie Lan stayed silent, but the strength of her grip increased.

The bar owner watched this scene with no intention of helping and after saying “I’ll leave her to you” she walked away.

When Xie Lan finally dragged Yao QiQi outside, the cool breeze had a sobering effect on Yao QiQi but she was still too drunk to think clearly. She just leaned against Xie Lan and moved around in a restless manner.

Xie Lan glanced down at her, a thought popping into her head, one that disturbed her other thoughts.

She was actually jealous of the person who had broken Yao QiQi’s heart to the extent that Yao QiQi had drunk herself stupid.

She was so jealous that she couldn’t think straight.

Xie Lan first drove back to her place and then drove over to Yao QiQi’s apartment.

Yao QiQi was still in a daze that she didn’t react to the person next to her until she was almost home.

“Cutie, why are you here?” Yao QiQi tilted her head and blushed as she looked at Xie Lan.

If Yao QiQi hadn’t said anything it would’ve been fine but when she called Xie Lan that, Xie Lan could feel the anger inside her building up. Just how many people had she called like that so intimately!?

After reaching her apartment, they knocked on Yao QiQi’s door for a long time but no one answered. Xie Lan asked Yao QiQi to unlock the door and Yao QiQi obediently followed her instructions.

“Go get your household registry and your ID.”

Yao QiQi drunkenly nodded her head and obediently did what she was told.

About forty minutes later.

At the city’s Bureau of Civil Affairs.

The registrar: “Are both of you voluntarily agreeing to this?

Xie Lan: *Nods*

Yao QiQi: (Seeing that Xie Lan nodded her head, did the same.)

The registrar looked at Yao QiQi: “Is there something wrong with this young miss? Why is the stench of alcohol so strong coming from her?”

Xie Lan: “….”

Yao QiQi (giggling): “Don’t you know drinking makes a person strong?”

If she was strong enough, she could tear that cu*t, Wei Ran, in half with her bare hands!

The registrar was somewhat speechless: “Ok, then. Please sign here.”

Xie Lan took the pen and signed without hesitation.

Yao QiQi watched her finish signing and then went over to sign it herself, muttering, “These hands that are going to break that piece of scum has to write stuff too?…..”

Xie Lan glanced at Yao QiQi nervously, fearing that Yao QiQi would suddenly refuse.

After some mumbling, Yao QiQi signed her name in a well-behaved manner.

After the signatures were finalized, they went to take their pictures.

Half an hour later….

They both held a small red book in their hands as they stood at the Civil Affairs Bureu’s entrance.

“Proof. Of. Marriage..”Yao QiQi struggled to read the words on the book and then flipped it sideways looking it all over, “Oh, I got married!” She giggled again.

Xie Lan looked at her, her face burning red.

Xie Lan sent the other person’s home, helped Yao QiQi into pajamas and then reluctantly left.

The next morning, Yao QiQi was so tired that her mother called her three times before she grudgingly got up.

Mother Yao gave her a look of disdain. “Where in the world did you go yesterday? I walked into your room this morning and almost choked on the awful stench of alcohol!”

Yao QiQi looked down at her clothes, “Did you help me change into these?”

“Why would I do that, you were already asleep when I came back…”

Yao QiQi was about to speak when she has a bad feeling.

Something was wrong!

She was drinking yesterday when….

No time to think, Yao QiQi turned back around and hurried into her room. After searching for a long time, she found it under her pillow.

Yao QiQi held up that little red book with trembling hands.

Her hands shook as she opened the book and then quickly closed it.

Xie Lan!

Yao QiQi grabbed her phone as she gritted her teeth, ready to call up the culprit…

She had barely pulled up the contact when the culprit personally delivered herself by calling first!

Yao QiQi pressed the answer button and shouted with her eyes tightly shut, “Xie Lan!”

The other side was quiet for a second when a low whisper responded, “En.”

“Did you…”

“QiQi, come down for breakfast!”

Yao QiQi was about to hang up when Xie Lan’s somewhat unstable voice called out, as if she had something urgent to say, “D-Don’t hang up! I, I’m downstairs right now….”
