The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.2

Chapter 2: Campus novel (1)

“That damned transmigration system…” Gu Anran face was twisted as she laid on the bed. Her body felt sore all over…if this happened a few more times, her body would probably break in two.

Although she kept complaining, Gu Anran still stood up and looked around the room. There was a white bed with big stuffed dolls sitting on it and the gray blankets had fallen to the floor. Not far away was a neat little desk with rows upon rows of neatly arranged books on top. She then looked at the mirror across from her.

The mirror reflected back a face that still had some baby fat, but contained delicate features and a figure that stood around 160 cm (5’2) or so. Overall, this person could be regarded as a young beautiful girl, just waiting to be plucked.

“I really…transmigrated…what about Hong Qingyi?” As Gu Anran looked around again and confirmed that she was the only one here, there wasn’t a shadow of the other person. However, her attention was suddenly attracted by something…

“OMG!! This laptop is the newest model! These game consoles too!” So exciting! In that moment, Gu Anran completely forgot about searching for her best friend and couldn’t help but flip open the laptop. However, she paused when she saw the screen.

The truth is often cruel. When one becomes excited beyond belief, the heavens will always try to find a way to bring you back down to reality. That was how Gu Anran felt as she read the words “Please Enter a Password”displayed on the screen.

“System! System!” Gu Anran yelled, but no reply came.

Fu*k me, it already abandoned me! Hey, this is only the first transmigration and it’s already like this?! Where’s the producer, I want to complain!

Knock! Knock!

The door sounded a few times and a woman walked in. She looked a lot like the body Gu Anran was currently inhabiting except with a less childish face and seemed more mature, with a gentle bearing. It looks like she was this body’s mother, however she maintained her body well and only looked like she was in her early thirties.

“Honey, did something happen? What was that noise just now?” Wang Qinghua looked at her mosst beloved only child with a gentle smile and asked.

“..Nothing…I just…I just tripped and fell, that’s all.” As an orphan, this was Gu Anran’s first time experiencing someone being this tender with her. This type of affection made her uncomfortable, so she hesitantly squeezed out a smile and answered.

“Oh so that’s what it was. Remember to be more careful next time. Ah, right, Qingyi came over to play, so you’re mother won’t bother you any longer.” Wang Qinghua had seen through her daughter’s obvious lies, but didn’t pry any further. She understood that as a parent she should give her daughter some space and so she just nodded her head and let the girl behind her in. She then left, closing the door behind her.

Gu Anran stiffy looked at the young girl in front of her…this..what should she do? She couldn’t just chase this girl out, wait…did that woman say Qingyi

“Hong Qingyi?!” Gu Anran blurted out while pointing at the girl.

“And you are Gu Anran!” The other girl exclaimed with widened eyes.

“…..”

“…..”

“So…this is a nice place you transmigrated into.” Hong Qingyi was the first to break the silence as she looked around the room.

“What’s so good about it? Well, I guess other than the fact that the laptop can’t be used, it’s not half bad.” As a serious shut in, the computer was basically Gu Anran’s lifeline! To have a high-end laptop, but not be able to use it was the most heartbreaking feeling in the world!

“…Well, you had it better than me, I woke up in a car on my way here. I thought I was being kidnapped.” Hong Qingyi complained and threw herself onto Gu Anran’s bed.

“Get up!” Gu Anran watched as Hong Qingyi messed up her originally tidy, clean bed and couldn’t help but throw one of the big dolls at Hong Qingyi. However, Hong Qingyi caught the doll and hugged it between her arms.

“Were you able to call out the system? I shouted earlier, but there was no response.” Seeing that her attacked failed, Gu Anran plopped down in a nearby chair.

“No idea, I’ll try it right now. System!” Hong Qingyi shrugged and then screamed into the air. [Editor Notes: bahaha im dying i wish i could just scream FOOD and then food would appear :))].

“You called? The cutest system in the universe is here!” A ball of light suddenly appeared in the air, and floated and was quite lively (annoying) as it made a few laps around the two of them.

“Hey, why is it that when I called you didn’t show, but when she did you immediately appeared?!” Gu Anran grabbed the ball of light flying next to her and squeezed it unhappily.

“Waaa! It hurts!!” The ball of light started crying …actually crying!! What, where was it’s eyes? How is there so much water coming out of this thing?!

“Wow, what is this thing!” Hong Qingyi seems to be quite curious and grabbed the ball of light from Gu Anran, squeezing it here and there. This caused the ball of light to cry more fiercely and it even sounded like it was choked with emotions as it cried out,

“Y-You people … are bullying me! Wuwuwu…I’m so…I’m so cute..and yet! I only wanted…the both of you here first..before I appeared! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa….”

Alright..maybe they had wrongly blamed it, but how in the heck is this thing cute?! Even if they unjustly blamed the system, to call a ball of light cute…that would be pitiful.

Gu Anran felt a headache coming on as she watched the growing puddle of water. Was this ball of light connected to the ocean or something….

“System, you still haven’t told us what the situation is.”

The crying abruptly stopped, and the ball of light humphed. Two books magically popped out of nowhere and came falling down, but Gu Anran quickly caught them, saving the books from a fate of being drowned. The system must’ve intentionally done that, but Gu Anran couldn’t care care anymore, she just wanted to hurry up and finish the missions so she can go home.

Throwing a copy at Hong Qingyi, Gu Anran scanned the book’s cover:

The Domineering Adonis fell in love with me

“….”

A campus novel…alright…taking a deep breath, Gu Anran opened the book and quickly flipped through it…

The story was very stereotypical. The female lead, Mu Qingli, was a super gifted student who got into the country’s most prestigious high school with her own strength. This school was also a haven for the children of the elite. Other than the female lead, her best friend, Chi Mengyan, also tested into the school. The two of them were the only ones who tested in.

The moment the female lead entered the school, she was hated by the masses because they were envious of her beautiful appearance. Then, during one lunchtime, the female lead accidently stepped on the female villian’s shoes and the female villain retaliated through insults. However, the female lead’s neither servile nor overbearing attitude towards the female villain, attracted the attention of the male lead who was passing by. Late, the male lead would actively try to meet up with the female lead.

Afterwards, the story continued with a series of bullying incidents with the male lead jumping out to save the female lead and the villian leads working together to harass the female lead and other bullsh*t events, until finally the two became a pair. However, because their families didn’t agree, and especially because of the female lead’s family pressuring them, the two broke up. When the male lead was sent to study abroad, the female lead found out she was pregnant, and although the male lead was no longer with her, she resolutely gave birth to his child.

Five years later, the male lead would return and by accident, meet his son. Then he would once again confess to the female lead and tried to pursue her again. As a result, their feelings for one another reignited, but the villain leads and their families got in their way again. However, this time with the two main leads working together, they were able to fight against their families, and finally obtain their blessings. Then the vicious male and female villians got their divine retribution and everybody lived happily ever after.

“…..”

Wow…this novel was so cliche that it made Gu Anran want to cry and it was so exaggerated that it made her want to vomit.

“So, the person I’m going for is the female lead, Mu Qingli.”

“Yes,” the system answered.

“Then who am I supposed to capture? Can I choose?” Hong Qingyi asked, shaking the book.

“No, your capture target is the female lead’s best friend, Chi Mengyan, also known as the supporting female lead.”

“And what about our identities? I don’t see our names in the book.” Gu Anran flipped through the book a second time, but still couldn’t find their names.

“The two of you were minor characters with no names because besides some participation in the bullying scenes, there were no other screen time. However, you’re family backgrounds are quite nice, both of you are the only daughters of upper-middle entrepreneurs. Although both your fathers’ companies were eventually taken over by the male and female leads.”

“…..”

“…..”

Should we be happy for the characters we transmigrated into…or angry?

“As for the capture targets’ favorability ratings towards the players, this system will update if they change, so please do not worry. School starts tomorrow and so does the missions, so may the two players rest well.”

And so …they happily (?) fell asleep.

T/N notes:

Favorability ratings = how much goodwill or affection a person feels towards you. The higher it is, the better.
