Received A Wife From The Civil Affairs Bureau Ch.51

Su Qingwen seemed to know that Jiang Ziquan was coming and his face was full of relief when he opened the door respectfully.

“Mr. Su, I remember everything.” Jiang Ziquan said but did not know how to face this loyal minster from the past. She never has seen someone as faithful as Su Qingwen: “I hope that Mr. Su can also help me tell Teacher Shen that the eight trigrams scroll is no longer needed.”

Jiang ZIquan’s eyes seemed to beg him desperately, a little scared he might say no.

Su Qingwen never thought that this was the first thing she said and looked up from his teamaking, “Miss Jiang no longer needs it anymore?”

“Yes.” Jiang Ziquan blushed, accepting the cup of tea she was given. As they were now, they no longer needed the scroll anymore.

Su Qingwen didn’t say anything merely and nodded in response.

After saying a quick farewell, the wedding photos studio called and told her the photos were ready and that she should come to pick it up. After thinking about it, she decided she can drop by on her way home.

Unexpectedly, Little Chen from last time waited for her at the entrance. When Jiang Ziquan came over, her eyes brightened a bit and then schooled her expression into a more neutral one, “Good day, Miss Jiang.”

Jiang Ziquan could guess what she was thinking and said, “Teacher Shen was a little tired last night, so she is resting at home today.”

Little Chen’s eyes widened at the thought, was it what she thought it meant? She hurriedly pushed the wedding album into her arms and said, “I wish you and Teacher Shen a hundred years of a happy marriage.”

“Thank you.” Jiang Ziquan flipped through the photos and nodded approvingly. One could feel the passion and love in each one and the two special sets were put into two separate booklets.

“The fifty-inch photo will be delivered to your door tomorrow.” Little Chen added.

“Great. Thank you. Then, I’ll be leaving first. Bye.”

Jiang Ziquan took the photos home and found an extra pair of shoes near the front food. She felt curious about who had come to visit them and peeked her head into the living room.

“Wang Jie, your language scores have improved from before, but you need to keep trying. If you work a little harder, you will definitely get the score you need to get into your dream school.” Shen Yumo patted the girl gently on the shoulder, comforting her.

Wang Jie naturally understood, but the college entrance exams were just too important. With her lively temperament, she couldn’t sit still in class, especially with something like the exams looming over the head. Often, she would space out and her scores dropped a little recently. As her class president, Teacher Shen immediately realized something was wrong and had called her in to talk.

“I understand, Teacher Shen.” Wang Jie replied and then looked around Teacher Shen’s house. She never would’ve thought that the design would be so modern.

Hearing this conversation, Jiang Ziquan could guess Teacher Shen had brought a student back and tiptoed lightly into the room.

Hearing those familiar footsteps. Shen Yumo looked up and nodded at her with a smile.

The little girl also saw her and her face lit up with joy as she shouted sweetly, “Hello, Teacher Shen’s wife.”

Jiang Ziquan realized she saw this girl before and responded with a smile. She looked over at Teacher Shen’s read face and unconsciously rubbed the album in her hands.

Teacher Shen held Wang Jie’s book in her hand and then gave Jaign Ziquan a look. Jiang Ziquan understood what that expression meant, it was the expression that meant she should give them some space because Teacher Shen needed to talk to the student.

Jiang Ziquan raised an eyebrow and walked over, her hand subtly brushing against Shen Yumo’s shoulder. She grabbed her drawings from the coffee table and said, “Then, let me get this out of your way.” She then winked and went into the bedroom.

Shen Yumo’s eyes were still looking down at the book, her expression revealing nothing. She pretended not to notice the small touches as she couldn’t show such a shameless side in front of her students.

However, Wang Jie had noticed everything and felt great admiration for Jiang Ziquan. She never expected that Teacher Shen was even more gentle and shy at home. The interaction between the two opened a completely new door in her imagination as she asked, “Is teacher’s wife an artist?”

Shen Yumo didn’t expect Wang Jie to be so interested in Jiang Ziquan but understood why. Jiang Ziquan looked good and her personality was friendly enough. Naturally, she would be well liked by the children.

“No, she’s a designer.” Shen Yumo answered briefly. Although Jiang Ziquan did a lot of work, she rarely saw any of her designs. Instead, she saw plenty of sketches of herself. So maybe calling her an artist wasn’t wrong.

“And stop calling her ‘teacher’s wife’ just call her Auntie Jiang.” Shen Yumo teased, a smile on her face.

“Auntie?” Wang Jie tilted her head and thought about Jiang Ziquan’s flawless appearance. With a flattering expression, she said, “Teacher’s wife is obviously still a beautiful, young lady.”

Shen Yumo’s serious expression turned into a glare.

“I-I mean, yes ma’am, I’ll call her Auntie Jiang from now on.”

Although Teacher Shen’s reaction was scary, Wang Jie didn’t dare comment on it and obediently followed her orders.

The two of them talked for a little while longer and when it was getting late, Shen Yumo released Wang Jie and let her return home.

Shen Yumo sorted the books on the table, rubbing her stiff neck as she turned and walked towards the bedroom.

Jiang Ziquan was still working on her crown and seemed a little dissatisfied as she frowned, a thin layer of sweat on her forehead.

However, it is said that a person is the most beautiful when they are focused and serious. Jiang Ziquan was one of those types that looked more beautiful than usual when she was quiet and lost in her own world.

Shen Yumo stood at the door for who knows how long without speaking. She quietly watched as Jiang Ziquan sketched, her slender hands shifting back and forth across the paper. When she thought about the fact that Jiang Ziquan was drawing her wedding dress, she felt delighted in her heart. It was a wonderful feeling to know that her wedding dress was being drawn by her lover, one stroke at a time.

It seemed that Jiang Ziquan encountered some difficulties as she leaned back with a sigh of frustration. She rummaged in her pocket for a cigarette and Shen Yumo stepped forwards to stop her. With a hand pressed against her, she said soothingly, “Take a break.”

With the familiar scent in her nose, JIang Ziquan obediently lowered the cigarettes and turned in her chair. She wrapped an arm around Shen Yumo’s wasit, effortlessly pulling the beauty into her lap, “And how does Teacher Shen propose I take a break?”

Shen Yumo was tired by then and didn’t struggle when Jiang Ziuqan pulled her into her lap. Instead, she shifted her position into a more comfortable one and ignored Jiang Ziquan’s teasing words: “Wang Jie is usually a good student and I didn’t expect her to be nervous for the college exams. However, she has been full of anxiety lately so I thought it would be good to motivate her a little and help change her mindset.”

She didn’t let Jiang Ziquan speak as she continued, “Did sister-in-law’s check-up go well?” She absentmindedly reached for the wedding photo albums and flipped through them. Seeing the shameless photos they took, she grabbed another album instead.

Listening to Teacher Shen up close was a treat for both the ears and eyes, a pleasurable experience that leaves one wanting more. Jiang Ziquan couldn’t help herself and gently placed a kiss to the corner of her mouth.

Shen Yumo wiped off the lipstick now staining the corner of her mouth and patted Jiang Ziquan’s arm, struggling to get up, “I’m tired. I want to take a shower.”

Jiang Ziquan nodded silently, Teacher Shen did look a bit haggard. She released her and went back to her drawings. The college entrance exams were coming soon and soon after that it will be time for their wedding.

After the shower, the two of them lay in the bed and Shen Yumo started the conversation, “Grandfather called today and he said that I don’t need to hang up the scroll anymore.”

Jiang Ziquan let out a sigh of relief.

Shen Yumo turned over towards Jiang ZIquan, her eyes closed as she said sleepily, “After sleeping with it above my head for so many years, it feels a little strange to sleep without it.”

“….If grandfather said to take it down, he must have a reason to do so.”

There was a layer of cold sweat on Jiang Ziquan as she feared that Teacher Shen would put the scroll back on the wall. She did not want to cause Teacher Shen to be unable to walk the next day because of her.

“I guess.” Shen Yumo replied blankly.

Shortly after, the sound of steady breathing entered her ears and Jiang Ziquan glanced down at the person beside her. Making sure that Teacher Shen was sound asleep, Jiang Ziquan sneaked out of the room and continued her drawing in the living room.

For the next few days, Teacher Shen was busy with the exam preparations. She would wake up at five or six in the morning and wouldn’t return until eleven at night. There were even dark eye bags under her eyes now.

Teacher Shen seemed to get more anxious every day, but her tension just made her act more cutely.

That is to say, although Teacher Shen was not an iceberg in the past, it was just that she didn’t speak much before. Now, she spoke more and more, rambling on about the situation in the class and Jiang Ziquan couldn’t even stop her once she got going. By now, Jiang Ziquan basically knew every little thing about each of her students.

As a literature teacher, Teacher Shen naturally spoke a lot during class and she still talked a lot at home. Her voice had become a little hoarse, worrying Jiang Ziquan so much that she would brew her tea and pack her lozenges to take to work.

She even called Mrs. Shen as she got more anxious, but Mrs. Shen reassured Jiang Ziquan that this was just Teacher Shen’s personality and that she should be fine after the exams. Jiang Ziquan relaxed a little after that, but she made sure to visit Mrs. Shen every day to grab some food that Shen Yumo liked to eat to give her a boost in energy.

In the evening, Teacher Shen was busy even in her dreams as she talked in her sleep. Jiang Ziquan could only hold her in her arms and comfort her with a soft voice. Even their cuddling sessions were rare these days because of how busy Teacher Shen was.

During the day, Jiang Ziquan continued to work on her drawing and called Chen Chen when she was almost done to have a professional designer edit it. She needed to get the wedding dress done as soon as possible.

Author’s notes:
