Another loathsome Monday, hah….Monday is the worst day of the week because it represents the beginning of class, the end of a holiday, and even more annoying because it was the first day of testing for midterms. 

“Ah~~” Gu Anran vigorously rubbed her tired eyelids that wouldn’t open when suddenly she felt her hands lifted and a wet handkerchief placed on her cheek and it gently wiped her face.

Huuu…it’s so comfortable….Gu Anran opened her eyes and squinted to see…it was Mu Qingli!

That’s right, since Saturday, although the two people never mentioned what happened that night, their interactions had changed. Gu Anran couldn’t say what caused the difference, but the female lead treated her better and more affectionately too.

Yes…for example…recently she would prepare drinks and snacks for Gu Anran, and whatever Gu Anran wanted, she would get it. If Mu Qingli didn’t have it that day, it would be prepared the next day. Gu Anran was starting to think that Mu Qingli’s bag was bottomless, for there was never an end to the amount of food she brought out.

Sometimes, Mu Qingli would even prepare lunch for her and her cooking skills were amazing, to say the least. However, it was only sometimes, not every day, which made Gu Anran feel like it was a pity. Not to mention, there was a certain pig who would steal from her, so the amount of food to cook was too much to prepare for every single day. Damn that hateful pig!!! (T/N: the pig is Hong Qingyi)

However, the biggest development was Hong Qingyi and Chi Mengyan’s relationship. Her own favorability rating was only 90 while the other two were already at 95 and they even were quite intimate with one another. To Gu Anran, it was like looking at another Wang Yanjing and Su Wen.

They would hold hands, not the usual holding hands, but like couples with all ten fingers interlocked. And the two were inseparable, always together no matter what. One time, Gu Anran passed by the bathroom and saw the two kissing…en….well on the corner of the mouth…but that can still be counted as kissing, right?

But more importantly, Chi Mengyan didn’t object, are they at that stage of the relationship already? Gu Anran thought. Recently, they were busy studying for the midterms so she never asked, but she should probably get the full picture soon. 

Tsk…just look at the two of them cuddling with each other again…Gu Anran, who had not eaten breakfast, suddenly lost her appetite. 

However, was it a good thing to develop such an emotional relationship? Once we’ve finished our missions, won’t we be leaving right after?

“Hey, what’s this thing going on between you and Mengyan? Tell me it isn’t what I think it is.” Hugging the big stuffed bear and lying on the bed, Gu Anran kicked the Hong Qingyi who was leaning against her bed. 

“Well..I’m in love with YanYan.” Hong Qingyi pushed away Gu Anran’s feet and sipped her juice box while nodding her head. 

OMG! Just look at what you’ve become! Even the way you address her had changed! It’s clearly full of affection! However, that’s not the point! [1]

“Remember, we will leave this world one day, so the two of you….what are you going to do?” Gu Anran paused.

Hong Qingyi stopped drinking her juice and then said in a quiet voice,

“I don’t know…maybe I can’t do anything about it, but I want to at least grasp onto these feelings I have now.” Hong Qingyi crushed the box in her hands and threw it into the trash. “Every day when I interact with her, I think, if this was the real world, I wouldn’t have to worry about my love for her.” 

Ah…it seems her feelings are real…. Gu Anran gave Hong Qingyi a complicated look. She didn’t know what to say to her best friend because she couldn’t say any supporting words without accidentally hurting Hong Qingyi. 

Shua…the system appears!

“Woohoo! Hello, my dear players who I haven’t seen in a while! It really has been a long time!” The light ball appeared between the two and happily circled around in the air, before finally stopping in front of the mirror with a narcissistic pose. 

“Hehehehe, I’m still the cutest.”

The system “twisted” its body(?) in front of the mirror, but received no response.

Strange, usually there would be some vomiting and「”….. Aren’t you just a ball? What cuteness is there?」or 「This is the first time I’ve heard a ball call itself cute when it’s so ordinary.」and even「Will the narcissist stop talking? You’re hurting my ears?」and other biting comments. Wait, have they finally become so attracted by my beauty that they can’t even speak?

The system who thought of reality too good to be true, flew over, only to find that the two players were in a bad mood?!

“Whaa, what happened to you two? Quick, tell this lord your woes and I will fix it!”

Snap! Gu Anran caught the ball of light and glared at it. The one who caused all this trouble by forcing them to transmigrate was none other than this little culprit in front of them!

“W-What’s wrong?” The system swallowed…whaaaaa…the player is so mean today! How dare they bully this cute and innocent system! (It seems that the system’s degree of shamefulness increases every time they interact.)

Gu Anran pinched the ball of light.

50,000 points! How is this even possible? The amount of points combined between the two of us is only 20,000!  To gather that much will take a long time!! Then do we have to delay completing the main missions?

“This … how can we…” Hong Qingyi’s expression dimmed, and she fell weakly on the bed and looked up at the ceiling.

“Don’t be sad! Although it may not be possible in the first world, it might be possible in the second! As long as the players don’t waste any points you’ll be able to do it! Moreover, the missions so far are only side missions and they don’t give many points. It’ll change with the main missions! Those missions give out at least 10,000 points or so! But Gu Anran couldn’t say anything, because at that moment Wang Qinghua (this body’s mother) opened the door. 

“Little Yi, it’s getting late, you should go. Your driver is waiting for you downstairs. Remember to call your mother when you get home.” 

“Alright, thank you, auntie.” Hong Qingyi stood up, patted her clothes and nodded toward Wang Qinghua.

Gu Anran patted Hong Qingyi’s shoulders and hope she’ll cheer up eventually. As Hong Qingyi said earlier, it was better to grasp the feelings of the present instead of worrying about the future. 

“You shouldn’t be worrying about me. You should be thinking about your relationship with Mu Qingli. Don’t tell me you don’t feel anything for her.” Hong Qingyi whispered into Gu Anran’s ear and then politely bid farewell to Wang Qinghua before stepping out of the room.

“Ranran, it’s time to take a shower and go to bed. You still have school tomorrow.” Looking at the dismayed Gu Anran, Wang Qinghua was worried. Was it because of school or something else? Was her daughter being bullied? This called for a serious discussion with Father Gu. 

Gu Anran’s mind, however, was occupied by the words that Hong Qingyi just said….

My relationship with…Mu Qingli…isn’t it just friendship? Why do I even need to question it….

She was so busy thinking that she didn’t realize that her shower water…had turned cold…
