The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.12

Chapter 12-Campus novel (11)

Gu Anran caught a fever….in the cold autumn season, she took a cold shower for more than an hour….of course she got sick! And it’s the really bad type of fever, one where you burn up all day and night!

“Achoo!” Gu Anran wiped her nose, ah…the toilet paper ran out again. She had used an nth number of packs of toilet paper, but her nose was still running like crazy.

Lying on the bed, she felt dizzy and terribly weak, so painful!

Ka-cha…The door creaked open and Wang Qinghua came in with medicine.

“Ranran, it’s time to take your medicine.” Wang Qinghua held up a few pills and a glass of warm water. Looking at the sickly Gu Anran, she couldn’t help but be distressed. My Ranran usually never gets this sick…it must be that lass, Shangguan Qing’s fault! Always so arrogant and she even dared to harm Ranran’s friends!

Naturally, Wang Qinghua had investigated everything that had happened and even investigated the two girls’ backgrounds. Finding that their families seemed to be clean, she could safely say that Ranran’s friends didn’t have any ill intentions, but that Shangguan Qing…

The Shangguan family had always been quite arrogant in the business world, forcibly stealing potential companies and grabbing all the market shares. Other than some lackeys and other neutral companies, most other companies refused to bow to the Shangguan Family’s whims. Besides being rich and overbearing, the Shangguan’s family internal affairs had become messy and their heirs had declined in power. Seems like it’s time to swallow up the Shangguan Family, but we’ll have to move up the plan in advance. Even if we can’t swallow them whole, I’ll make sure they’ll at least fall into disgrace! Hmph! Don’t blame me for being ruthless, this is what you get for touching my cute daughter!

Wang Qinghua watched as Gu Anran swallowed the medicine, and seeing her daughter’s face twist because of the bitterness, Wang Qinghua became even more determined. If Gu Anran knew what Wang Qinghua was thinking about, the corners of her mouth would twitch and she would say that her mom’s imagination really was too powerful! Then two thumbs up and a ‘Good job, I support you!’

Knock! Knock!

Two knocks rang out and the door opened, revealing a middle-aged woman standing outside. This woman is Aunt Zhang, otherwise known as…the housekeeper!

“Madam, some friends of the Young Miss have come to pay a visit.”

“I understand, let them in.” Wang Qinghua nodded towards Aunt Zhang, then stood up and said to Gu Anran,

“Mom has to go do something now, do you need anything else? Will you be fine on your own?”

“En…” With her nose thick of mucus, Gu Anran laid back down on her bed and gave a vague reply.

Wang Qinghua placed a hand on Gu Anran’s forehead one last time and then prepared to leave when she bumped into Hong Qingyi at the door with Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan following behind.

“Hello, Auntie.”

“En, thank you for coming. Ranran is inside.” Wang Qinghua smiled, and then studied the other two, thinking that they seemed like good people, even better than the information she received. She knew that her own daughter seemed to be open and like to joke around on the surface, but in reality, Gu Anran liked to keep people at a distance, never letting them break past the walls she had set up. So other than her parents, Gu Anran had only let Hong Qingyi and Wang Yanjing into her heart. However, she then slowly continued to let down her walls, first, it was Su Wen, then Duang Hongwu, Song Wenyan, Chi Mengyan and finally Mu Qingli. Seeing her daughter make more friends, naturally, Wang Qinghua felt happy for her daughter.

Thinking like this, Wang Qinghua glanced at the three surrounding Gu Anran and closed the door. Then she turned towards the nearby Aunt Zhang,

“Call me if anything happens, I’ll be working at the company today.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

As the two masters of the house prepared to go to war, currently in Gu Anran’s room:

“Idiot! What kind of dumbass can’t even tell the difference between hot and cold water! Did you leave your brain at home?!” Hong Qingyi looked at Gu Anran with impatience and gently flicked her forehead as if to say that Gu Anran’s head was completely empty….

Before waiting for Gu Anran’s response, Mu Qingli stopped Hong Qingyi’s arm,

“Don’t be mean, little Yi.” Mu Qingli grabbed the nearby towel and the already prepared basin of water, dipping it into the water and then gently wiped Cu Anran’s forehead.

Hong Qingyi: “….” What an amazing amount of dog food! [1] Too bad the other party is a complete fool! Ga~~I’m full now, but thanks for the hospitality~~

On the other hand, Chi Mengyan, as Mu Qingli’s childhood friend, had already discovered Mu Qingli’s feelings for Gu Anran. It was like the feelings shared between her and Hong Qingyi, but she had no idea if Gu Anran returned those same feelings. As both their friends, Chi Mengyan, of course, wanted the two of them to be together, but these things cannot be forced. But who said they couldn’t create opportunities?

Once one is decided, they must act. Don’t underestimate Chi Mengyan because she seems like the quiet type, she was actually much more forceful than even her friend, Mu Qingli. Quickly grabbing Hong Qingyi’s arm, she said,

“Qingli, Anran needs some rest, so it’ll be fine if you leave only one person by her side. I have something to do with little Yi, so we’ll be leaving first.”

Hong Qingyi: “…..” Something to do? How come I didn’t know anything about this?

Gu Anran: “….” Hey, hey, hey! You guys just got here! Why are you leaving me? And you call yourself my friends! Besides, there’s Aunt Zhang, so I don’t need any of you to take care of me! Hmph!

“Alright, then I’ll stay. If you two have something to do, then you can leave first, leave this to me.” As if she was receiving an important duty, Mu Qingli nodded solemnly.

“Eh? We clearly don’t have any-hiss!” Before Hong Qingyi could finish, she felt a sharp pain at her waist and couldn’t help but cry out in pain. Immediately she turned to look at Chi Mengyan and wanted to complain, but was stopped by Chi Mengyan’s glare. Wuwuwuwu…where did my tender and cute girlfriend disappear off too?

“Little Yi, is there something wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?” Mu Qingli worriedly asked as she looked at the pale-faced Hong Qinyi. Meanwhile, the Gu Anran lying on the bed, because of the angle, could clearly see Chi Mengyan pinching Hong Qingyi’s now red skin. OMG! That looks painful!

“I’m…yes, my body feels a little uncomfortable.” Hong Qingyi was about to answer Mu Qingli’s question, but the pain increased and she immediately changed her answer. At the same time, she was crying secretly in her heart, my waist! It hurts so much, it must be blue by now!

“Oh no! Then you should go back home and take a good rest.” Mu Qingli nodded.

Female lead…are you blind? Can you not tell the difference between sickness and pain? Can you really not tell, the evidence is right in front of you!

Although Gu Anran cried out in her heart, she didn’t say anything. Perhaps, she was also hoping that Mu Qingli could stay behind…

During her fever, Gu Anran had laid on the bed in a groggy state with her mind full of Mu Qingli. Admittedly, her affection for Mu Qingli had surpassed the level of ordinary friends, but how can she face these feelings of hers?

Should she be like Hong Qingyi, and just surrender to her feelings or silently hide them, so she can live normally and finish these missions to move on to the next world?

As for Gu Anran’s answer…she doesn’t know….

Mu Qingli escorted Hong Qingyi and Chi Mengyan out the door, before turning around to see a severely disoriented looking Gu Anran.

“Um….this…little Ran, are you hungry? Would you like to eat something?” Mu Qingli asked

It was almost eight in the evening and they had rushed over as soon as school ended, but because Gu Anran’s home was right in the center of the city it took them more than an hour to drive over and they had arrived after seven.

Originally, Mu Qingli had planned to ask for a day off and visit Gu Anran but was stopped by Hong Qingyi. Hong Qingyi told her that Gu Anran didn’t like to trouble others because of her problems. Instead of being grateful, she might even get angry.

Therefore, Mu Qingli had felt anxious the entire day before finally coming to Gu Anran’s house.

But now, the previous worry had been replaced by the current tension in the air and Mu Qingli only had the courage to ask these dry questions.

But after asking, Mu Qingli immediately wanted to slap herself. Of course, Gu Anran had already eaten! What is wrong with me?! I’m so stupid!!! Ahhhh!

“Eh?” Gu Anran froze. She thought Mu Qingli would ask her about her health. How did you get sick? How are you feeling? But the question was…are you hungry? Is it because we’re not on the same wavelength? Why are our thoughts so different? \

“I’m not hungry.”

Gu Anran had just eaten some bitter medicine, the bitterness causing her to lose her appetite, so she could only answer her seriously. She had no clue that her honest answer made Mu Qingli feel even more embarrassed!

“T-then….I’ll pour a glass of water for you!” Mu Qingli fiddled with her hands uneasily and then turned around.

“The water is…” Gu Anran wanted to say the following words: on the table….

But before she could…

Crash! Because she had turned around so hastily, the water basin on the table was knocked over and then…a tragedy occurred….

Looking at the overturned water basin, besides feeling embarrassed, Mu Qingli now was drenched in water. Gu Anran struggled out of the bed and stood up to help Mu Qingli. After seeing Mu Qingli’s ‘funny’ mishap, Gu Anran’s previous dizziness seemed to disappear…

“Are you okay?”

“Yes…I’m so sorry.” Mu Qingli wanted to find a hole to bury herself in right now. It was supposed to be her job to take care of Gu Anran, when did it turn into Gu Anran taking care of her?! Ahhhhhh!! So shameful!

“It’s alright.” Patting Mu Qingli’s shoulder, Gu Anran opened the door,

“Aunt Zhang, can you come in for a moment.”

“Is there anything wrong, Young Miss?” Aunt Zhang hurried over.

“My carpet got wet, may I trouble Aunt Zhang to help me clean this up?” Gu Anran pointed to the large puddle of water on the ground.

“Of course, that is my job.” Aunt Zhang nodded and answered.

“Thank you, Aunt Zhang.”

“Oh right, Young Miss, since Miss Mu’s clothes are wet, why not let her wash up? Madam ordered me to prepare the bath downstairs for you, so I was just about to call you down.”

T/N notes:

[1] dog food: internet slang for public display of affection ( usually one uses it to say they are being forced to ‘eat’ (witness) it)

In China, schools sometimes don’t let until late afternoon, around 4-6 depending on the school.
