Chapter 17- Campus novel (16)

Shaaaa…turning on the faucet, Gu Anran washed her hands and then turned it off. She took the towel from Hong Qingyi, who was leaning against the door, and wiped her hands. 

Originally, they had planned to walk around for a lap and then go back, but the system stopped them, saying there was still another five minutes before they could go back. Therefore, they decided to go to the bathroom and wait. 

“Anran, you have to pay special attention to Little Qing later. If I remembered correctly, doesn’t the female lead get drugged around this time?” Hong Qingyi said with arms crossed.

Correct. Recalling the plot of the story, now was when the female lead is drugged and then the male lead would accidently walk in on her. Together they would do unspeakable things and further develop their relationship. It was because of this, that the female lead would get pregnant afterwards. 

“I don’t think it will happen. It’s reasonable to assume that most people here now that Little Qing and Little Yan are protected by our Gu family, Hong family, Duan family, and Song family. There shouldn’t be anybody blind or stupid enough to mess with them, right?” Gu Anran suppressed the anxiety rising in her heart, maintaining a calm expression on her face.

“But in the plot, wasn’t it the Shangguan family who drugged the female lead? Why would they care about our families?”  Hong Qingyi narrowed his eyes and said.

「Warning! Warning! The male lead, female lead, supporting male and female lead, are about to be drugged! May the players prevent any accidents!」

What?! The towel in Gu Anran’s hands shook and Hong Qingyi’s body sprung up like a bullet. 

“Why is even Yan Yan getting drugged as well!!!!” Hong Qingyi screamed in anger and prepared to rush out. 

“Wait, Qingyi.” Gu Anran grabbed Hong Qingyi’s shoulders. 

“What are you doing? Gu Anran, isn’t your female lead getting drugged too?”

“Yes… but if they’re already drugged, then there’s nothing we can do to stop it. There’s no use if we rush out now, it’s better to let it develop into a dog eat dog situation.” [1] A flash of cold light appeared in Gu Anran’s eyes. Dare to touch MY little Qing?! Better be prepared to pay a costly price. 

Meanwhile, the Mu Qingli who was waiting for her little Ran to return after so long, couldn’t help but stand up when she was stopped by a Shangguan Ying.

“Miss Mu, would you like a drink? This is the blue citrus spirit that had been prepared by our family’s master bartender. Rest assured, tt doesn’t have any alcohol in it.” Saying so, Shangguan Ying motioned to the six glasses resting on a tray and forced one into My Qingli’s hands. 

“I…this…” Mu Qingli wanted to refuse, but had this drink stuffed into her hands quite forcefully. 

At the same time, Shangguan Ying handed the rest of the glasses to the other three, smiling as he grabbed the last glass. 

“Everyone, in order to celebrate the engagement between my little sister and little Wu, I ask you to have a drink in their honor.” The smile grew even more intense, but nobody paid much attention to it. 

Duan Hongwu, already tired from today’s fiasco, didn’t want to fight with Shangguan Ying at all. He just wanted to trest, so he nodded his head and drank it all in one gulp. Then passing the empty glass to the waiter next to him, he closed his eyes.

Song Wenyan laughed bitterly with self-deprecation and slowly sipped the drink in his dazed state. 

Chi Mengyan glanced at Shangguan Ying. She felt that Shangguan Ying had ill intentions behind that smile. If he wanted to celebrate, he should’ve invited them to drink the first time he was here. Why would he do it now?

Thinking like this, Chi Mengyan took a tentative sip, but found nothing was wrong. However, her heart still felt quite anxious. Yet, Hongwu and Wenyan also drank their offered glasses, and Shangguan Ying himself was drinking…maybe she was being too sensitive? 

Mu Qingli watched the other three drink, however she herself was still holding on to her glass. Her heart was too worried about Gu Anran. She hurriedly drank the glass in two to three gulps and then nodded towards Shangguan Ying before walking out quickly.

Smiling at the four people who drank the ‘fixed’ drinks, Shangguan Ying’s eyes lit up with joy. He no longer cared about their cold attitudes and waved a waiter over before leaving. 

As soon as Mu Qingli stepped out of the hall, she made her way to the restroom. But as she turned, she felt her neck suddenly hurt and her vision turned dark. If someone was there, they would see a young girl being carried away by several intimidating men in black clothes and sunglasses. Their hats made it impossible to see their faces clearly. 

The group of men did not plan to take the elevator, for people could come in or out at any time. Instead, they climbed the stairs all the way to the top floor. Although the banquet hall could be considered a restaurant, it was actually a high class building, so naturally there were high class rooms for guests to rest in.

Carrying Mu Qingli, the man in lead, opened one of the ten rooms and watched as the others gently set the girl on the bed before cautiously walking out. He then locked the door and took out a walkie talkie. 

“Young Master Shangguan, the target has been delivered to room 006.”

“Very good! The rest of you can leave, your clothes are too obvious, make sure to walk far away. Oh! That’s right, put both of the girls in the same room, this young master hasn’t played in a threesome in a long time!” Taking a sip of his wine, Shangguan Ying revealed a disgusting smile as he ordered his men. 

“Understood.” The man indifferently accepted Shangguan Ying’s orders and obediently left with his group.  

Not long after they left, the door to room 001 opened. Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi walked, their obstructive dresses now gone as they had changed into more appropriate outfits. 

“Shit, what a crazy bastard!” Hong Qingyi shivered. Gu Anran patted her shoulder. 

“Calm down, they won’t be able to succeed. The tape recorder got everything, they will get their just dues eventually.” Gu Anran shocked the stethoscope-like thing in her hands. This was a tool that the two of them spent 500 points on to get. It was a tool that allowed them to eavesdrop on the conversation. As long as a sound is produced, no matter how quiet, it can pick it up. It also came with a recording function. So this is why the two were able to know everything about Shangguan Ying’s plan. 

The two entered the room again as another group of men in black came, this time with the male supporting lead, Song Wenyan. 

The men in black put him in the room next to Mu Qingli, room 005.

“Call over a few coarse and rough men.” The man in charge whispered to the man next to him.

“Understood.”

Men? Gu Anran thought that Shangguan Ying would arrange a beauty or something for Song Wenyan! However Shangguan Ying was more cruel than they thought, he actually arranged for a man! And a group of them that has to be the rough kind! OMG! What a heavy handed taste Shangguan Ying had!

“Oh, right…Young Master Shangguan said that the power should be turned off so it can have more….feel to it.” The man in the lead started again.

“I know.”

Turning off the power is actually helping us! Originally, they were trying to figure out what to do with the lights, but unexpectedly Shangguan Ying would actually do it himself. Now they can put on a good show. 

Chi Mengyan and Duan Hongwu were also moved into their rooms, one after the other. The difference was that Chi Mengyan was moved into the same one as Mu Qingli while Duan Hongwu went to the separate room 007.

After making sure that no one else was there, Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi came out of hiding, the show will now begin! 

“Follow the plan. Move fast, but don’t get discovered.” Gu Anran took out a bunch of keys, and after trying a few, quickly opened the door. 

The two separately princess carried Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan. As to how two physically weak people were able to do so, it’s because the system’s shop had everything they needed. In the shop, one could use 50 points to buy two ‘super strength’ pills. With it, one can lift up anything that weighs 200kg or less. However the effects only lasted 10 minutes. They had no choice but to make do because the permanent skill option would cost each person 3000 points. Such an expensive sum made one want to vomit in anger!

Putting them into separate rooms, Gu Anran dragged Duan Hongwu into Song Wengyan’s room. 

Then they had one of them wait in Duan Hongwu’s room. After a while, they heard footsteps, but it was coming from only one person. The mysterious person knocked on the door. 

“Brother Wu~~~ Are you in here? Big brother said you were looking for me?”

Shangguan Qing waited, but heard no response. She knocked again and still there was no response, so she grabbed the doorknob and turned it. 

“Brother Wu, the door is unlocked~~ I’m coming in!” Shangguan Qing decided to enter and seeing the dark room, she stretched out her hands. She couldn’t even see her hands for that matter.

“Strange, why didn’t you turn on the lights…”

Thwack! 

Catching Shangguan Qing’s limp body, Gu Anrna held her breath. Heavens! The smell of perfume from this close of a range is ahhhhH!

They had Shangguan Qing transferred to the room where Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan were originally in. Taking out a can of deodorant spray, they sprayed it all over her body. In order to reduce the obvious smell of deodorant, Gu Anran picked a lemon spray that made it seem like the lemon scent was naturally coming from the body. The effect would only last around two hours, but that was more than enough. 

Closing the bed curtains, so that one couldn’t see Shangguan Qing’s figure, it would be hard to distinguish who it was. As for the other person who should be there, Gu Anran calculated the angle and arranged a pack of pillows into a vertical pose. Then covering her mouth and nose, she sprayed a colorless and odorless powder into the room and exited the room. 

“Now, let’s wait and see for the final showdown.” Gu Anran grabbed her chin and smiled.

“En.” Hong Qingyi nodded, sticking a small camera into the corner not far away. Don’t underestimate her, for the corner she picked had the best view. 

The two looked over at each other and then nodded before hiding in the corner outside the hall. Five minutes later, a drunk Shangguan Ying came over, singing while walking. 

“Beautiful girls~ Beautiful girls~They’re my beautiful girls~” 

Taking out a key to open the room,

“Hahahahah, my beauties, this young master has arrived!” Then he slammed the door behind him. 

After waiting a while to make sure Shangguan Ying wouldn’t come out, Gu Anran hurriedly rushed forward, unlocked the door and switched the plates on the doors of 005 and 006. Then she returned to her original hiding spot. 

“Hahahaha, what kind of fun thing did they call us here for?” 

“It must be something really good!”

“Yeah, yeah, and we don’t have to pay for anything!”

Heavens! Where did they find these people?! Gu Anran’s eyes twitched as she looked at the five coarse and rough guys in front of her. They couldn’t even be described as rough! Each one had at least 160 pounds worth of fat on top of their already fat bodies. Each layer rolled as they walked, making one feel nauseous and burning the eyes. 

“Alright let me see…005, this is it.” The big man in the lead held a piece of paper as he reached out to turn the doorknob. 

“Oh, the door’s not locked.” Saying so, they opened the door, and immediately unspeakable sounds could be heard. Instead of expressing dissatisfaction, the few people hurriedly rushed in with excitement. 

“Ai…I hope no one is dead by tomorrow.” Hong Qingyi swapped the plates of 005 and 006 back to their original places. Although she said so, her eyes were lighting up with giddy joy. 

“Alright, let’s head back to our rooms and rest up! Tomorrow will be a good show!!”Gu Anran patted Hong Qingyi’s shoulder and smiled.

However, Gu Anran seemed to forget that there is still a huge crisis to be solved in her own room.

[1] dog-eat-dog: used to refer to a situation of fierce competition in which people are willing to harm each other in order to succeed.

Also this entire chapter was like a math problem. Gosh, my head hurt the entire time. In case you are like me, incredibly weak to numbers, I’ll explain it to you. Shangguan Ying, Shangguan Qing and the rough guys are in one room, while Duan Hongwu + Song Wenyan is in the other. And Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan are in separate rooms.
