After entering the office, Gu Anran let out a sigh of relief. Looking around, it was a pretty large office. There were bookcases lined against the walls, filled to the brim with books. These were also the L shaped two-person and three-person sofas, a TV, a bar, and there was even a bed behind a glass door on the right side. The place seemed more like a lounge than an office. So cool! Worthy of being the Vice President’s office! 

“Sit.” Mu Qingli ordered. She was sitting on the sofa and noticed that Gu Anran was still looking around in a daze, so she raised her hand and waved twice. 

“Uh…ah? Ok!” Gu Anran quickly sat on the sofa next to Mu Qingli. 

“….why are you sitting so far away? Come over here.” Mu Qingli felt unhappy that Gu Anran was so far from her and patted the seat next to her. 

“Huh?” Gu Anran froze for a moment. Didn’t the novel say that the female lead hated when others got too close to her? So what’s up with this? However, if my wife is favoring me, that must mean that my charm is extremely high~ (Author’s note: Someone is too dumb to notice that she’s already being targeted←←)

She stood up and sat closer to Mu Qingli and the moment she did so,

「Female lead’s favorability rating has increased by (5) and is currently at (30). Please remember that the item ‘Good Guy’ card’s effects were activated earlier.」

Eh, so the good guy card came in handy? So the initial 20 points is because of this item? Ah, it’s not because of my charm? 

Mu Qingli watched as Gu Anran’s face flipped through different expressions and found it quite amusing. Damn that Chi Mengyan for taking the advantage and hugging her first. I want to hug her too~~ Uh…endure, endure, must restrain myself…can’t scare off the little cutie from the very beginning! 

Keeping up her usual cold expression, Mu Qingli said, 

“From today onwards, you will be my secretary. Your job is actually very simple. You only need to stay by my side and finish the tasks I assigned you.”

“En.” Gu Anran nodded. 

“Then, your first task is to brew a cup of coffee.” Mu Qingli went right back to work, picking up a document and started working. 

Gu Anran walked over to the bar, there was a coffee machine sitting on the counter. Next to it were the highest quality of coffee beans along with other equipment such as a milk frother. There were also a variety of snacks sitting on the table and behind the machine were cabinets full of wine. Gu Anran estimated that one bottle of wine was probably worth more than half of her salary. 

She glanced back at the Mu Qingli seriously doing her work, and then looked back down at the coffee beans in her hands. Gu Anran poured the coffee beans into the coffee grinder, pressed the button and then poured the milk into the milk frother. 

Although Gu Anran’s cooking skills were terrible, because of her obsessive love of coffee, her coffee making skills had been practiced to the point of perfection. Every time Hong Qingyi drank a cup of her coffee, she told Gu Anran she should open up her own cafe. However, to Gu Anran who would rather sit then stand or lie down than sit, running a cafe would be torturous for her. 

After a few minutes, the coffee machine emitted a strong aroma, and she poured the coffee into a white mug. Then she picked up the stirred milk. 

Taking a deep breath, Gu Anran slowly poured the milk foam onto the coffee’s surface.

Hmmm…there should be a curve here along the ear….outline the mouth…and done!

On top of the coffee, a lively little fox appeared on the surface with its tongue sticking out, giving it a mischievous look. 

Grabbing a few plates and arranging the coffee onto the tray with a few snacks, Gu Anran carried it over to Mu Qingli. 

She first set the snacks down, and then placed her exquisite coffee right in front of Mu Qingli. 

“Hmm..? Thanks.” Mu Qingli looked at the little fox in surprise. She felt it looked quite funny and glanced at Gu Anran. The other party was looking at her nervously watching her every move as she slowly lifted the cup to her lips. Her cold expression almost cracked, just how cute can this girl be?!!

Taking a sip, Mu Qingli’s eyes flashed, a trace of surprise in her eyes. The dense milky foam combined with the smooth coffee, it didn’t taste bitter and was much better than the coffee she had made earlier. 

“It’s good.”

Hearing her wifey praise her, Gu Anran’s heart relaxed, her heart full of joy. Yay! Wifey praised my skills!

“Vice President Mu, have some snacks. There’s still some time before lunch!” Gu Anran moved the tray in front of Mu Qingli. 

“Ok, Little Ran….”

Hearing that familiar title Gu Anran froze and suddenly turned towards Mu Qingli. 

Gu Anran’s sudden movements startled Mu Qingli. However, Mu Qingli thought that her sudden intimate nickname might’ve scared off the other party and rushed to explain herself, 

“I…Little Ran is just easier to call, otherwise…otherwise calling you Secretary Gu is a bit wordy…so, you don’t mind, right?”

“N-No…of course I don’t mind…” Gu Anran smiled, this was what she wanted after all. 

「Female lead’s favorability rating has increased by (5) and is currently at (35). 」

“So, Little Ran, can you please help bring these documents down to the Human Resources Manager?” Mu Qingli pointed at the pile sitting on the table not too far away.

“Of course.”

“Then you can leave first.”

“Ok!” Gu Anran took the pile of documents and walked out quickly. Hmmm…Human Resources Manager….that should be Little Yan. 

Watching Gu Anran’s retreating back, Mu Qingli let out a gentle smile she didn’t even know she could make.

Sure enough, she’s a cute one….

Chi Mengyan’s office was right below the Vice President’s office. The Mu Company treated their employees very well and allocated a lot of office space for their managers. Gu Anran studied a map of the building on the wall. The President’s floor was on the top floor, and the Vice President’s was on the floor below that one and the other managers’ offices below the Vice President’s. Floors below the 15th were where all the other employees worked.

In addition, there was a research center, several meeting rooms, a lounge with drinks and snacks, a gym, and even a massage center. Furthermore, they were open to all employees, but of course each department had different shifts as to when they could use the facilities. 

Ding….the elevator opened and Gu Anran walked in. Since it was only a floor below, she quickly arrived in front of the Human Resources Manager’s office and knocked. 

“Manager Chi, the Vice President asked me to bring these documents to you. I’m coming in.”

Opening the door…she was bombarded for the second time today with another display of affection. Can someone tell me why the Little Yan who was previously attacking my wife is now with my teammate…although they are a pair….but….is their favorability ratings already that high! Why are they entangled with each other….cough…why are they hugging each other with their clothes all messed up?!!!

To understand why let’s go back to a little bit earlier…..

“Aiya~ Aiya~ Little cutie, why are you so far away? Come over here and play with this sister.” Chi Mengyan smiled like a wild wolf and stretched out her wolf claws towards the little sheep, Hong Qingyi. 

Hong Qingyi violently shook her head. Yan Yan is so scary now!!!!

Earlier, she was dragged into Chi Mengyan’s office, her head still buried in Chi Mengyan’s chest the entire time. It was a miracle she was still alive! And it was really embarrassing! 

Hong Qingyi had escaped when Chi Mengyan’s hands were busy opening the door and hid in the corner. 

“As my secretary, you’re supposed to stay by my side all the time!” Seeing that the little sheep wasn’t coming over, Chi Mengyan didn’t mind. So she just leaned across the sofa and sent a wink at Hong Qingyi. 

“Cough…this counts as staying by your side! There’s only the two of us in the office, so it doesn’t matter where I am, I’m still by your side!” Being relentlessly assaulted by those coquettish gazes sent her way, Hong Qingyi would never admit that her heart was thumping furiously.

Hmmm? My little sheep is so eloquent! 

Chi Mengyan raised an eyebrow, then as if she didn’t care about Hong Qingyi’s attitude, she pointed at a table not too far away,

“Bring those documents over to me.”

Hong Qingyi hesitated, but her body moved anyways and she handed the documents over to Chi Mengyan. Chi Mengyan lazily stretched out her hand, but the moment she touched the papers, she quickly grabbed Hong Qingyi’s wrist and pulled.

“Whooaaa…” Hong Qingyi shouted, and when she opened her eyes, she realized she was in Chi Mengyan arms. 

“Wait…you…”

Although I am very happy that my wife is hugging me, don’t you think this is too fast? Isn’t the rating supposed to be at 70 or 80 before she does something like this?!! Hong Qingyi moved to get up, but of course Chi Mengyan would not let her succeed. 

And so like this, one trying to move away and the other not letting them, the two people became entangled and their clothes a mess. Then the door opened….

And that is the situation her dear friend, Gu Anran, walked into….

“Huuu…hufff….Little Ran, do you want to join us?” Chi Mengyan never imagined that her little sheep would struggle for so long, but when Gu Anran came in, the little sheep froze and the struggling stopped. Taking advantage of this, Chi Mengyan embraced the little sheep into her arms and smiled at the dumbfounded Gu Anran. 

“No! No, I’m good! Here are the documents! Sorry to disturb you!” Gu Anran rushed into the room, quickly set the documents down on the table and then ran out, closing the door behind her. She never noticed the outstretched Erkang hand [1] from her fellow party member.
