The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.28

Chapter 28-CEO novel (8)

“And that’s what happened….” Hong Qingyi finished.

“Oh, you motherf*cker! How dare you talk trash about me in front of my wife! And you’re obviously showing off! Damn you!” Gu Anran ruthlessly stretched Hong Qingyu’s cheeks.

“Eveeeeeerriii woodddd ayyy saiwww wazzzz truuuuu (every word I said was true)….izzzzz huttttzzz, lettt goooo (it hurts, let go)….” Hong Qingyi wanted to slap Gu Anran’s hand away but since there wasn’t much room on the sofa, with both of them fighting and pulling they eventually fell onto the ground.

Mu Qingli and Chi Mnegyan were preparing the snacks when they came out running after hearing a loud thump.

Which meant they walked into the scene with Gu Anran lying on the ground and Hong Qingyi above her still with one arm placed against the floor beside Gu Anran’s shoulder. From Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan’s perspective, it looked like the two were….kissing!

“That hurts.” Gu Anran pushed Hong Qingyi off of her and brushed the hair scattered across her face as she rubbed her head.

“You’re the one that’s hurting?” Hong Qingyi sat up, rubbing her now bruised arms and complained.

Ahem…..would either of you like to explain what happened?” The two looked up to see Chi Mengyan crouching next to them. Although she was smiling, for some reason her expression made one shiver. Not to mention, Mu Qingli was radiating an intimidating aura behind her. Seeing Chi Mengyan carrying a plate was normal, but why is Mu Qingli carrying a knife! And why is there red juice dripping from it! Ahhhh, scary!

After the two vowed vehemently that it was just an accident they were finally able to quell their targets’ dissatisfaction.

“By the way, Mu Qingli, is your family getting arrogant again?” Chi Mengyan lazily peeled her fruit and asked.

“They’re probably planning on making a move now.” Mu Qingli refilled Gu Anran’s cup.

“Has there been any news from the investigators we sent in? If we keep letting them do what they please then sooner or later the Peng family will….” Chi Mengyan dragged out the end of her sentence as she watched Hong Qingyi and Gu Anran tease the cat. If they wanted to live a peaceful life then all potential dangers must be removed soon.

“What are you two talking about?” Although Gu Anran looked like she was focused on petting Milk, she had been listening in on their conversation. When she felt Chi Mengyan’s gaze on them she took this opportunity to speak up.

Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan shared a look. The two people in front of them are their future partners possibly so even if they didn’t want them to become tainted by the darkness they at least had a right to know, didn’t they?

“You’ve probably guessed by now by Mu Qingyan, Qingli’s stepsister, and her mother want to seize the entire Mu family’ assets.” Chi Mengyan replied.

Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi nodded. Only idiots wouldn’t be able to tell that something was going on within the company.

“My mother died 15 years ago and right after the funeral, he brought back my stepmother and her daughter.” Mu Qingli stated dryly. Growing up, she believed she lived in a happy family but when her mother passed away the illusion broke. She watched as her father doted on her stepmother and a girl who was only a few months younger than herself. It wasn’t hard to figure out that her father had been having an affair for a very long time. Maybe even before he married her mother.

It was because of this that Mu Qingli chose to move out long ago. Perhaps sensing his eldest daughter’s purposeful alienation and indifference, her father did not stop her. He only had to deposit some money into her bank account every few months. As for her stepmother and that dear little sister of hers, they couldn’t wait to kick her out of the house themselves. Whenever she saw them standing together, she was the one that felt like an outsider.

Suddenly she felt a gentle hand patting her back and she raised her head to see Gu Anran’s worried expression. Mu Qingli shifted and held Gu Anran’s hand, her heart warmed up as she continued,

“Perhaps he felt guilty, but my father gave me the position of Vice President. However, he may have given me that position in hopes that I will lay a good foundation for his other daughter.” Mu Qingli laughed coldly.

“And these past few years we found out something interesting.” Chi Mengyan walked out and then returned with a box. She opened the box and inside were stacks of photos.

“These are….” Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi held up the photos. A pretty looking woman acted intimately with a big-bellied middle-aged man. Sometimes they were in a cafe, sometimes in a scenic spot or at a hotel. The information inside these photos all held an alarming fact.

“Mu Qingyan is not actually related to the Mu family?” Hong Qingyi guessed.

“En. I dug up records of her DNA and my dad’s DNA and the results were as expected. The two of them didn’t have a single match, she is not his daughter. Furthermore, the birth records we found don’t match up to the official one, and the midwife who delivered her had mysteriously vanished. It was later that we learned that she had perished in a fire, probably silenced so the perpetrator could hide the truth.”

“And this man is?” Gu Anran pointed at the big-bellied man in question.

“This man is Peng Qing, the former President of the Peng Company. He is also the most likely suspect of being Mu Qingyan’s real father. However, we were unable to obtain his DNA because this slimy old fox had all his records and his family’s records wiped from the hospital’s database.”

“Then you can just hack into their database.” Gu Anran tilted her head.

“It’s not that simple. The Peng family spent millions on building up their defense network and hired multiple professionals to perfect it. There are many different types of firewalls protecting their database from unwanted eyes and even if we wanted to break through those walls, we only have one chance. If we fail, the Peng family might increase their defenses and if they find out who did it they can sue the hacker and take them to court. So we have to choose the right person.” Mu Qingli felt distressed thinking about it and didn’t notice the strange glance shared between Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi.

“Tonight, we plan to meet with the President of the Duan company and to discuss the possibility of working together to knock down the Peng family.”

“And all you need now is someone who can bypass the Peng family’s firewalls?” Gu Anran asked.

“En. Yes, do you have any ideas?” Chi Mengyan nodded and curiously looked at Gu Anran’s confident expression.

“Well look no farther than, you have the best candidate right here.” Hong Qingyi hooked an arm under Milk and pulled her up, causing the cat to cry out in dissatisfaction.

“Candidate? Where?” Chi Mengyan and Mu Qingli looked at her in confusion.

“Anran is a computer god, there is no computer program that beat her, at least from what I’ve seen.” Hong Qingyi proudly patted Gu Anran’s back.

“Really?” Chi Mengyan felt skeptical.

“Not exactly, Qingyi is exaggerating a bit. However, you let me try out a few jobs. It doesn’t have to be the Peng family’s firewall, but you can ask someone to make one and then give me a chance to break through it. You can decide after you’ve seen my skills.” Gu Anran scratched her cheek sheepishly.

Chi Mangyan and Mu Qingli glanced at each other.

“Alright, I will have a few of my subordinates create a few firewalls for you.” Mu Qingli decided.

“Okay.” Gu Anran nodded, as long as she as it makes her wifey happy she’ll do anything~~

After spending the rest of the afternoon discussing a few more things, it was time to meet the male lead. Now that she thought about it, other than giving them the usual main missions and telling them when their rating went up, the system hadn’t given them any side missions! Don’t tell me that the system abandoned us!

“Miss, the car is ready.” The housekeeper called in on the phone.

“I understand. Little Ran, let’s go.” Mu QIngli grabbed a few coats and reminded Gu Anran.

“Yes, yus, I know.” Gu Anran picked up her bag, smoothed her collar, and followed Mu Qingli outside where the chauffeur was waiting for them.

“Wait, we’re coming with you!” Chi Mengyan and Hong Qingyi who were supposed to have returned home by now suddenly appeared beside them.

“Don’t you usually hate these kinds of meetings?” Mu Qingli asked.

“Yeah, but this little guy wanted to take a look.” Chi Mengyan shrugged helplessly.

Huh? Was Qingyi always interested in these types of things?”

Gu Anran glanced at Hong Qingyi who also shrugged helplessly in response, ah….that’s the look she makes when the system gives her a mission! I understand your pain! Oh and I guess the system is still alive if it’s giving out missions.

“It’s fine, you can come with us.” Mu Qingli nodded.

“Now for the seating arrangement….”

“I’m sitting in the back seat with the two little cuties next to me~~” Chi Mengyan interrupted and shouted and without waiting, dragged Gu Anran and Hong QIngyi by the waist towards the car.

Huh? Huh? HUH?!

Pa!

One hand harshly gripped Chi Mengyan’s shoulder and all three turned their heads around. Uh, wifey seems to be exuding a really powerful aura right now! A mixture of coldness and killing intent? Gu Anran wasn’t sure but she did know….that it’s frightening!

“You. Will. Sit. In. The. Front. Understood?” Mu Qingli spit out each word harshly as she stared daggers at Chi Mengyan’s arm that was still around Gu Anran’s waist.

“Ah~~” However, as Mu Qingli’s childhood friend, Chi Mengyan was not afraid and only looked at Hong Qingyi who was struggling in her other arm. A malicious glint flashed in her eyes.

“Okay~ I’m going to sit in the front.” The arm around Gu Anran suddenly pulled away and gravity pulled Gu Anran towards the ground but she didn’t hit the cold pavement but into another’s arms.

“You can sit in the back with your little cutie and I’ll sit in the front with mine.”

“Hah? Wait! Hello, don’t I get a say in this! I don’t consent to this!!!”

Chi Mengyan opened the door and ignored Hong Qingyi’s protests as she pushed her inside and then closed the door behind them.

“Are you okay?” Mu Qingli patted Gu Anran’s shoulder gently.

“Huh? Ah! No….I’m fine.” Gu Anran shook out of her daze and realized she was still in Mu QIngli’s arms. She quickly got up and shook her head.

Feeling the soft creature leave her arms, Mu Qingli felt somewhat at a loss and looked at Gu Anran’s retreating back. Hmmmm….should I do what Chi Mengyan proposed and make Little Ran sleep with me?

Brr….

Why do I feel so cold all of a sudden? Gu Anran hugged her jacket closer to her body.

“Let’s go!” Mu Qingli ordered the housekeeper and closed the door with a bang.

“Um, understood!” The housekeeper answered dazedly.

Gu Anran looked at the housekeeper strangely. From what she had seen so far, the housekeeper is a serious person and was never absentminded, so why was he like this now?

Looking at the passenger seat, she understood why! Chi Mengyan and Hong Qingyi were sitting together and……!!!!!!!

OMG! Chi Mengyan’s wandering hands were roaming underneath Hong Qingyi’s clothes, going higher and higher until it reached Hong Qingyi’s chest. Then the rubbing motions began and Hong Qingyi’s face was flushed. She was biting her lips so she wouldn’t make a sound. However, even if she didn’t make a sound, she was unable to stop her breathing becoming heavier and heavier. Looking at Chi Mengyan’s mischievous expression, Gu Anran sighed helplessly for her friend. Your wife’s personality in this world is so strange! Must’ve been hard on you!

Just as Gu Anran watched on with sympathy, a hand wrapped around her wrist and pulled her back. She felt something soft press against her back as the person leaned forward to whisper in her ear,

“Don’t look.” That familiar voice ordered and Gu Anran quickly nodded.

I’m sorry, my dear friend but try your best to survive!

T/N notes:

I’m really liking this world’s Chi Mengyan~
