The driver stopped in front of a bar. However, Gu Anran took a closer look and saw that the bar was actually a restaurant! A really pretty looking restaurant! Whoa, there’s even a casino in there! Amazing! Definitely a place for the rich!

“Haaaah…..haaah….” A hand landed on Gu Anran’s shoulder and she turned her head to see a flushed Hong Qingyi. 

“Whoa, are you okay?” Gu Anran patted Hong Qingyi in turn and asked in concern. 

“I’m…fine….”

Ooof! It’s like hearing the voice of a vengeful ghost who just crawled out from the depths of hell! Scary, scary! Although I think anyone would be like this after what just happened….even if it was just some fondling…..

The room was also covered in thick and obviously valuable carpets. A white sofa without a speck of dirt on there circled around a low table and there were two men sitting there. The men looked up when they heard the door open and the familiar faces of Suang Hongwu and Song Wenyan were finally revealed. 

「Attention! The male lead and supporting male lead have appeared! The male lead and supporting male lead have appeared! The male lead and supporting male lead have appeared! Important matters must be repeated three times.」

Probably because she hadn’t heard the system’s voice in such a long time, Gu Anran jumped a little. Damn system! I leave you alone for a little bit and you become this disobedient! I need to teach it a lesson!

“Since there are two new faces here today, I will introduce myself briefly. My name is Duan Hongwu, the President of the Duan Company. This is my secretary, Song Wenyan.” Duan Hongwu smiled softly and said everything in an easygoing tone. 

“Hello, and you can just call me Wenyan!” Song Wenyan added with a bright smile. 

“You’ve already met Manger Chi and this is my secretary, Gu Anran. This is Manger’s Chi Secretary, Hong Qingyi.”

“Nice to meet you, please sit.”

“We’ve encountered a similar impasse on our side of the investigation.” Mu Qingli frowned. 

“However, we do know that the Peng family has done all these things we just need some solid evidence.” Duan Hongwu furrowed his brows, “ I think the only way we can prove that the information we’ve gathered is real, is to….”

“Breakthrough the Peng family’s firewall and take the information straight from its source.” Mu Qingli finished for him. 

“Yes, but the Peng family’s firewall is like an iron wall we can’t get through and the person we select must be top-notch. If they aren’t successful, we may have to face the Peng family’s full wrath in their trail of revenge.”

“Have you selected a candidate yet?” Mu Qingli asked.

“Yes, my cousin, Duan Cang. He is a well-known computer engineer. How about you?”

“Our candidate is my secretary.” Mu Qingli replied. 

Seeing that Mu Qingli didn’t hesitate and her eyes were full of trust, Gu Anran felt touched. If my wifey needs something, I’ll move mountains and rivers for her! I definitely will! The Peng family’s firewall is nothing! I will deliver all the evidence on a silver platter! 

“Alright, then that’s settled. I will bring my cousin to your company and have them do some test runs against the programs your company sets up. We’ll let the two try and if they can’t do it, then we can only look for another candidate.” As for why Duan Hongwu had no objections to Gu Anran being Mu Qingli’s candidate, it’s because he’s been a President for years now. He understood the saying, ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’ and would not underestimate someone from looks alone. 

“Ok. We will proceed with the test runs the day after tomorrow.” Mu Qingli confirmed. 

“I understand and as per our previous agreement, once we take down the Peng family, we will split their assets 50-50. It’s been a pleasure cooperating with you, Vice President Mu. 

“En. Likewise.”

After discussing a few more details, the group of people walked out. Suddenly a voice popped out,

The villain male lead! Isn’t that supposed to be the current President of the Peng family? Gu Anran looked up and noticed a figure hiding in the corner. A sickly pale man with bright red lips, he stared with eyes full of obsession at Mu Qingli. He then turned to glare at Duan Hongwu standing beside Mu Qingli with disgusting eyes. 

Gu Anran poked Hong Qingyi in the elbow and Hong Qingyi also looked up and saw the man. Perhaps they were staring too intensely because the man noticed them but he didn’t lower his gaze and instead smiled strangely. He pointed a finger in Mu Qingli’s direction and silently mouthed the words, 

‘She. Is. Mine!” 

What kind of nutcase is this?!! Gu Anran thought angrily. 

“Anran, Qingyi, what are you doing? It’s time to leave!” Chi Mengyan shouted from in front of them. 

“Coming!”

“Oh!”

Gu Anran looked up again and saw that the man had left. The villain male lead….Peng Yankai….be careful to not covet things that don’t belong to you! Otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable! 

This time, Chi Mengyan sat alone in the passenger seat while Gu Anran sat in the middle with Hong Qingyi and Mu Qingli on her left and right.

She glanced at Hong Qingyi who had her eyes closed and Chi Mengyan who was falling asleep in the front, Gu Anran took a look at her watch. Although the meeting wasn’t too long, it was already past eleven.

Gu Anran turned her head towards the sound of a page flipping, 

Ah! Wifey why are you reading documents in this dark car! Although there is a tiny light above you, with the car tumbling around you’re going to get dizzy! 

Thinking like this, Gu Anran reached out and grabbed the pile of documents. Noticing the puzzled look in Mu Qingli’s eyes, she explained,

Mu Qingli blankly looked at her empty hands and hearing Gu Anran’s caring words, she felt moved! The little cutie actually cares about me! Who cares about documents, this is much better! 

“Alright….” Mu Qingli replied and closed her eyes, but then felt her head being gently pulled towards one side before it leaned against something soft.

This…this is her shoulder! 

“It’s much more comfortable like this.” Gu Anran explained embarrassedly. 

Mu Qingli didn’t say anything and only moved around a bit into a more comfortable position.

Gu Anran sighed in relief that she wasn’t pushed away. As she looked at Mu Qingli’s long eyelashes fluttering gently, she smiled happily. She blissfully closed her eyes.
