The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.31

Chapter 31-CEO novel (11)

“If everything is ready, can we begin now?” Duan Hongwu asked.

“Of course.”

“Great.”

Gu Anran and Duan Qing were sitting back to back with each of them looking at the computer in front of them. Gu Anran had to familiarize herself with the computer first and was surprised that Duan Cang didn’t bring his own personal computer. They both had taken a few minutes to get used to their tools and now they were ready.

“Alright, all the information is stored within the computer in front of you. There will be a total of three channels for you to bypass and you may begin when the bell rings. Whoever breaks through and gets the information first will be considered the winner.” Hong Qingyi explained the rules.

“Ready….begin.” The moment she said those words, the sound of a bell rang out from the stopwatch. Gu Anran and Duan Cang moved at the same time, the tapping of the keyboard filling up the room. No one dared to talk for fear of interrupting their concentration.

Gu Anran stared intensely at the screen, going through countless data and materials as she scanned through each one. She made her way quickly through the traps, cracking the code, layer by layer. With just a glance, she was able to connect the dots, easily taking in the massive amounts of code and her job was to expose the most vulnerable parts of the code and breakthrough it.

Time continued to tick by, one minute at a time, and then finally the big green letters, ‘You have completed your work.’ appeared on her screen. Letting out a sigh of relief, she leaned back into the chair and smiled.

“Stop. 10 minutes and five seconds.” At the same time that Gu Anran stopped moving, Hong Qingyi also pressed her stopwatch.

“I concede defeat.” Duan Cang gracefully admitted and closed his laptop. At first, he had been skeptical about this young woman’s skills. After all, he was a famous computer engineer and was often called this generation’s youngest genius. He had been playing with computers for over 20 years now, ever since he was a child. In fact, he had only participated in what he thought would be a boring contest for his cousin’s face. He had thought that he would definitely win but never thought he would lose and lose so thoroughly too. One must know that he was only on the second channel when this was finished.

“Thank you for the match.” Gu Anran raised her hand and Duan Cang shook it with a good-natured smile.

“You are so talented with hacking, why didn’t you enter the computer and other related industries?” Duan Cang asked. He believed that this girl would become a highly sought after asset once the results of this competition were leaked and wanted to see if he could poach her first.

“Uh…I just never thought about doing that before.” Gu Anran embarrassedly scratched her cheek.

“Such a pity.” Duan Cang regretfully shook his head.

“Mr. Duan, I’m afraid that Little Ran is still an employee of our company. It’s not proper for you to try and steal my employee right in front of me.” Mu Qingli stepped forward, one hand wrapped around Gu Anran’s shoulder as she gave him a death glare. Trying to snatch what’s mine? You’re just looking to die!

Whaaaa! Wifey is so domineering!

“Sorry about that, Duan Cang did not mean anything malicious with his comments.” Duan Hongwu sensed that Duan Cang wanted to say more and quickly pushed Duan Cang behind him with a smile. He then took a closer look at Gu Anran. He was quite clear on how strong his cousin is, so he never expected Duan Cang to lose. Perhaps they actually did have a chance of breaking through the Peng family’s firewalls!

“So when are we going to act?” Mu Qingli asked.

“If you want to strike, you must strike them down in one blow. Maybe we can first distract them with a few attacks and then when they aren’t paying attention, we’ll make the final attack and give them the final crushing blow.” Duan Hongwu explained.

“Alright, we’ll start from there then.”

Actually, this plan would be quite simple to carry out. In addition to owning several companies in the business world, the Peng family had plenty of clout among the entertainment circle as well. Of course, there were plenty of shady secrets and scandals among their entertainment companies meaning there was plenty of stuff just waiting to be exposed….

In the next three days, the media was full of scandals from Feihua Entertainment company (Pengjia’s entertainment headquarters) and plenty of rumors, no, they couldn’t really be called rumors anymore because every single rumor was backed up by piles of photos. The directors of Feihua were all rather vulgar as they took many shameful pictures of their victims as blackmail and both female and male stars were often being exploited. Every single photo had a timestamp and location attached to them and there were even some videos too.

“The Peng family should be so busy that they won’t be able to do anything else. The reputation of Feihua has hit rock bottom and almost all the director’s public images have been destroyed. Unless Feihua is rebranded and they change out the old blood with completely new ones, the Peng family won’t be able to set foot in the entertainment circle ever again.” Chi Mengyan concluded as she nonchalantly flipped through the reports in her hands.

Of course, all these incriminating photos and videos were obtained by Gu Anran. She had to admit, it was easy because the directors at Feihua had quite the interesting ‘fetish’ since they made videos for everything….probably so they could enjoy it later. However, all the actors had their faces censored, after all, Gu Anran and the others didn’t want to destroy the careers of innocent actors or actresses. If they did that, then Gu Anran and others would probably face the wrath of the Heavens.

When Mu Qingli saw the pictures and videos that were too unspeakable to look at for too long, she shook with burning anger. She sympathized with the women in the photos, for she was a woman too in the end. To be forced into doing something like that….they were lucky they weren’t directly killed then and there. Instead, those beasts were thrown directly into prison, never to see the light of day again.

Meanwhile, in the Feihua President’s office…

A middle-aged man was throwing things left and right, breaking every fragile object. He is the President of Feihua, Peng Yan, otherwise known as the brother of Peng Qing.

“Damn it all! Just who was the one that did it!”

“President, what should we do now?” A director of the company desperately asked. He was about the same age as Peng Yan.

If one looked closely, they would find that all the directors who had their crimes exposed were gathered here, their expressions revealing their anxiety. These past few days, other than some of their wives who would never divorce them, they had lost all support and financial backing. Their families broke off all contact with them and they would be treated like rats when they walked down the street, with people shouting and throwing things at them. From a famous director to a human who was worse than a beggar, many of them couldn’t take the pressure anymore.

Their messy hair, stinky stench, and dark eyebags painted a pitiful picture. They looked more pitiful than the sorriest figures out there.

“How should I know?! I can’t even protect myself, who cares what happens to you guys!” Peng Yan let out an angry roar and threw his teacup onto the floor. One must know that he was involved with over 30% of the scandals that were in the news right now!

“President, can’t you call the Peng Family for help?” One of the directors asked.

“Do you think I haven’t done that already?” Peng yan clutched his phone tightly. He doesn’t know how many times he had made calls to his brother and other members of the Peng family by now, but not a single one of them answered the phone. Some of the numbers showed that they were no longer in use, and he wasn’t stupid enough to not understand what this meant. He had been abandoned by the Peng family. This was the end of the road for him. They had abandoned him so easily that it made his heart feel chilled.

When the group of directors heard this, their faces turned pale. They had always thought the powerful Peng family would be able to protect them, but didn’t expect that the Peng family had so easily given them up.

Shuaa…..

The door opened and a large number of policemen rushed in,

“Freeze! Put your hands up in the air!”

“Qingli, did you read the news.” Gu Anran placed her phone in front of Mu Qingli, a picture on her screen. It was a group of a policeman arresting Peng Yan and his group of directors. There was even a crowd that surrounded them causing a riot. Some of them rushed up and tried to beat up a director, some of them threw eggs….making the pathetic criminals seem more pathetic.

“They got what they deserved.” Mu Qingli softly patted Gu Anran’s head.

“So are we going to hack into the core of the Peng family yet?” Gu Anran asked.

“No, not yet. We plan to wait for the verdict first.” Mu Qingli replied.

“But aren’t you afraid that the Peng family will try to save them?” Hong Qingyi tilted her head.

“If the Peng family wanted to save those people, then they would have done so by now. They would’ve interfered the moment we released those photos online. It seems the Peng family aren’t as united as I thought.” Picking up the pot of coffee, Chi Mengyan poured herself a cup of coffee as she answered lightly.

“But their in-fighting is convenient for us.” Mu Qingli added, “How are things on the Duan family’s side of things?”

“They were able to give Peng Qing quite a shock.” Chi Mengyan smiled.

Although the Peng family looked like a normal business conglomerate on the surface, they actually had most of their assets in the underworld. This was precisely what allowed the Peng family to become so domineering.

Unfortunately for them, the Duan family possessed an extensive political background. Previously they had turned a blind eye to the shady underdealings going on, but this time they cracked down on them hard. They inflicted a large injury that the underworld wouldn’t be able to recover easily from for some time.  Furthermore, the gangs couldn’t fight back without both sides losing so they could only make some small movements. With this chance, the Duan family was able to seize control of the drug smuggling ships that the Peng Family relied on. Over 500 billion yuan worth of assets were seized.

“Everything seems to be going smoothly, but there haven’t been any movements from Peng Qing which sorries me.” Mu Qingli frowned slightly.

That’s right, whether it be the underworld or the entertainment circle scandals, the Peng family hadn’t made any movements at all. It made sense that they didn’t do anything to protect their associates in the underworld, but what about the entertainment circle? Was the Peng family going to willingly give that up? Or was it because they had some other plans.

Meanwhile, at the home of the Peng family, Peng Qing was lazing around in his chair. He was smoking a cigarette while a butler held out a bottle of wine, pouring some into his cup every so often. Several pretty women in revealing clothing were massaging his hands and feet. He looked like he was in paradise.

“There is no problem on your side of the things, right?” Peng Qing said in a gentle tone but his eyes were frightened.

“Of course. I had pestered the old man for ages now and he has finally relented. Tomorrow, the vice president’s position will go to Little Yan.” The voice on the other side was slightly feminine, carrying a trace of excitement and glee.

“That’s great, it’s been hard on you.”

“It’s nothing if it’s for our children than everything would’ve been worth it.” The female’s voice suddenly became sickenly sweet.

“En. When old man Mu dies I will definitely have you return to my side.”

“Okay, I will wait for you, my dear Qing.”

Hanging up the phone, Peng Qing took a deep breath and then asked the butler,

“How are things with the Duan family?”

“Everything is going as planned. We have already bought out the person closest to Duan Hongwu so I believe everything should be fine.

“Good.”

It was time for the Peng family to start their counterattack.

  1. Surprisingly the pentesting was only a little silly, didn’t make me want to off myself so I appreciate that.

Ofc Mu Qingyan isn’t even Qingli’s dad’s daughter.

Are characters from different settings the same people, or have they diverged enough to be entirely separate? The protagonists treat them as the same individuals but that feels a little convenient.

Thank you for the chapters, your translation is really clean and well edited. I can follow every conversation and know who is speaking.

    1. The characters are same in name and looks, but there personality should be different in each setting. I’m guessing that they will hold on to a few of there key characteristics (like Chi Mengyan being the aggressive one and Mu Qingli always indulging in Gu Anrna’s antics.) At least most novels I’ve seen with the “multiple transmigration” theme tend to follow this trend.

    2. It seems like while they’re a little different from their first incarnation their core personalities are still the same, Qingli being a bit overprotective a obsessive over Anran, she also seems to find all her gestures cute and is always excited when Anran is the one to initiate things.

Mengyan we didn’t really see that much in the first book but she seems very aggressive towards Qingyi, as in when approaching her and really likes to pamper her.

When they first left and Qingyi thought she couldn’t see Mengyan again it was quite sad.

Anran seems to hide her feelings a little deeper but she also seemed quite sad, as we can now see how much she loves her wifey.
