The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.46

Chapter 46-Entertainment Circle (8)

Standing at the door was Duan Hongwu and Song Wenyan. As famous stars, the both of them should not be allowed into her room, even if they were employed by their father for it did not mean there were no traitors in the company. They could leak out secrets or other unsavory news, however, based on their anxiousness and from Gu Anran’s previous encounters with the two, she let them enter the room after notifying her bodyguards.

“Speak.” Gu Anran asked as Hong Qingyi handed her a glass of water.

“Open your Weibo and you’ll see.” Duan Hongwu replied.

Weibo? Feeling puzzled, Gu Anran clicked open her Weibo and immediately saw the headline 「Legend of Qinghe filming, the battle between the Film Empress and the Little White Flower」The following was a photo of Mu Qingli falling backward and Gu Anran with her hands stretched out. From that angle, it looked like Gu Anran was the one pushing Mu QIngli down.

There were several sub-headlines below it such as 「Film Empress and Little White Flower fight for favor」There was a picture of Gu Anran, Mu Qingli, and Duan Hongwu discussing the script.

Below, the comments were in a frenzy,

User 1004762: “That Mu Qingli really is shameless!”

User 1004763: “Yeah, a little bit*h! How dare she compete with my Goddess for the Male GOD!!”

User 1004764: “Hmph! The comments upstairs, why don’t you take a look at the situation! Gu Anran is too much! She is being arrogant to newcomers, what for?”

User 1004765: “The comment above me, you’re such an idiot! Film Empress Gu and Film Emperor Duan are an item in the first place while this nobody named Mu Qingli deserved all this for daring to butt in!”

The posts were all uploaded less than an hour ago, but there have been more than one million comments and more than 5 million views already. The number was still increasing and the comments began to increase their cursing. The longer it went on, the more unpleasant it was.

Gu Anran frowned and clicked on the username who posted these pictures. The account name is 「The Truth Teller」and they were a famous account. Known for specializing in gossip about various stars and politicians, what set it above the rest was the quality of the pictures and the outrageous captions. Therefore, the attention it received was very high.

However, this person was very good at protecting their identity. Other than the posts, they didn’t reveal any personal information, and only the username was displayed.

“This…this is too much!” Chi Mengyan was the first to speak and took out her own phone to reply to those slanderous comments. However, she was stopped by Hong Qignyi.

“Wait, you can’t reply to these things. It’ll only make it worse.”

“Then what should I do?!” Chi Mengyan’s eyes were worried as she glanced at Mu Qingli who was silently looking through the comments.

“You must trust your own skills and ignore public opinion. Leave everything to us, we’ll fix this. Right, Anran?” Hong Qingyi turned to Gu Anran.

“En.” Gu Anran nodded and then faced Duan Hongwu and Song Wenyan,

“You two should return first, we will resolve this matter ourselves. It will not be proper for you to stay here any longer, it is best if you leave.”

Duan Hongwu wanted to say something but he knew it was not suitable for him to stay any longer with his precarious status. He could only nod at Song Wenyan and then leave quickly.

As the door closed, Gu Anran turned towards the three people, “Keep an eye on this matter, I need to contact my family first.”

“Ok.” x3

Gu Anran walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows as she took out her phone. Normally the curtains were closed all the time and she drew back the curtains to take a peek at the situation below.

She saw reporters gathering below her, many fans mixed into the crowd as they all argued with the hotel staff.

This hotel is technically the property of the Gu Studios and was exclusively reserved for this film. Therefore, in order to protect the artists’ privacy, it was forbidden for journalists to enter.

However, for news and money, the reporters were quite excited and the crowd continued to grow. At this rate, a few of the reporters might even slip in.

“Tell the hotel staff to close the doors. All guests that are currently out must be informed by phone and told they can still safely enter the hotel but in a discrete manner. Remind the others to not leave the hotel during this time but if they insist on leaving, tell them the hotel will not be held accountable if they are injured or hurt.” Gu Anran first made a call to the hotel manager to calm the situation and then called Uncle Zhang,

“Uncle Zhang, help me gather all the video footage from this hotel within the last few days.”

Hanging up the phone, she sat back down on the sofa and watched the three other people come up with a counterplan. Meanwhile, Gu Anran turned her attention back to the phone and contemplated it.

All the photos were taken in a way that was intentionally a little blurry. Yet, the quality was still top-notch. That meant these photos were definitely not taken by the paparazzi for it was impossible to take top-notch photos secretly. So it had to be someone related to her in some way!

I have to find out who these people are. Gu Anran though while taking out her laptop, connecting it to her phone as her fingers moved quickly over the keyboard.

The clickety clack sounds attracted the other three’s attention.

“What is Anran-” Before she could finish, Chi Mengyan’s mouth was covered by Hong Qingyi’s hand.

“Quiet. You’ll understand when Anran is done.” Hong Qingyi whispered.

Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan nodded mutely. They understood that Gu Anran was handling important matters and it was best not to distract her.

Mu Qingli stared at Gu Anran’s side profile, her heart fluttering. She had seen the comments just now and saw how many people had cursed her. At first, she thought that her acting career was over and yet Anran still didn’t give up. Anran was still determined to help her….

The female lead’s favorability rating has increased by (5) and is currently at (80).

The message sounded in her head, but Gu Anran didn’t pay attention to it as her brain was preoccupied with data and numbers.

“Huuu….” Gu Anran exhaled.

“So got anything good?” Hong Qingyi poured another glass of water and handed it to Gu Anran.

“En.” Gu Anran took a sip of water and nodded.

“How was it? How was it?” Chi Mengyan also leaned over and asked.

“….wipe your sweat first.” Mu Qingli quietly took out a neatly folded white handkerchief from the bag and handed it to Gu Anran.

“Thanks.”

Hong Qingyi: “….” You didn’t say a single word of thanks for my service, what kind of friend are you!

“Look here.” Gu Anran turned her laptop so the screen was facing the three of them.

“I tracked the account. All I can say is that the person who took the photos and the owner of this account is the same person. And this person is luring beside us.”

“Besides us?!” Chi Mengyan shouted incredulously.

“Mengyan, what Anran meant is that it has to be a person who is filming with us or who has encountered us. She did not mean one of us.” Hong Qingyi clarified. Otherwise, she would be the biggest suspect! One must be clear or else a roadblock would be set in her wifey’s heart and then the path to chasing her wife would become more difficult.

“Then…who is this person?” Mu Qingli asked.

“…You don’t have to worry about this. Focus on filming the movie.” Gu Anran couldn’t help but reach out and pat Mu Qingli’s head. She avoided Mu Qingli’s confused gaze and turned towards Hong Qingyi,

“First, we need to eat lunch. With things like this, it is no longer suitable for us to eat out.”

“I understand.” Hong Qingyi nodded and picked up the phone.

“You two should rest first. We may have skipped filming today, but we need to get back to work tomorrow.”

“Oh.”

“…Ok.”

She handed them the remote, but neither of the two seemed interested in watching TV. Instead, they bowed their heads and continued to swipe through their phone. This was only natural, who would still be in the mood to watch TV in this current situation. Unless you had an impossibly big heart or a big enough background, most people would not be at ease right now.

Suddenly, someone patted Gu Anran’s shoulder. She turned around to see it was Hong Qingyi who had finished ordering the lunch. She motioned for Gu Anran to follow her and they went over to the corner to discuss quietly.

“So what did you find out?” Hong Qingyi asked.”

“Isn’t it quite obvious? It’s Cui Qianqian.” Gu Anran crossed her arms.

“I thought such a scheming person wouldn’t be so stupid.”

“Indeed, the female villain lead in this world isn’t stupid to do something like this. If it were me, I would use someone else I trust to handle these shady matters.” Gu Anran tapped ehr chin lightly.

“Then why?”

“Because she found a backer. The Gao family, Gao Wenjian.”

“Gao Wenjian! The male villain lead!” Hong Qingyi exclaimed.

“Yup.”

Gao Wenjian, the head of Gao’s Studios was also the male villain lead of this world.

“He’s taken a fancy to Qingli?”

“Not sure, but I know for sure it has something to do with Gao Studios. Cui Qianqian was only able to hold so many charity events in the past because of such backing. Also, the protagonists in those pictures are stars from Gu Studios, which means…”

“That Cui Qianqian is a spy for Gao Studios.”

“Yes. She must have reached an agreement with Gao Wenjian to have betrayed the company that lifted her to her current positions. Cui Qianqian is using Gao Studios to pull down the people above her and Gao Studios is using her to destroy Gu Studios while obtaining important insider information at the same time.”

“Then we can solve this directly, just like last time.”

“No, I need to deal with Cui Qianqian first. Remember, her identity is different from the last villain. She is a star and what are she stars most afraid of?” Gu Anran narrowed her eyes.

“Losing reputation and status.”

“Exactly….I want her to taste the feeling of falling from the highest altar to the lowest bottom.” Gu Anran’s eyes flashed with a ruthless look.”

“Aiya! Anran is so cruel~” Hong Qingyi teased.

“For a spy to not understand the meaning of being grateful, plus her scheme against Qingli, what reason do I have to show mercy on her?”

“Well, that’s up to you. I don’t care what you do as sling as you don’t involve my wife. I will help and support you. You should also know I like these kinds of things.” Honn Qingyi licked her lips excitedly.

“Although, what are you going to do with Gao Wenjian?”

“Simple. From my investigation just now, I have found a few suitable people…no, should I say vermin from the Gao family who I believe will be very ‘happy’ to help us.”

Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi smiled at each other.
