The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.48

Chapter 48-Entertainment Circle (10)

After the whole changing fiasco, Gu Anran and Mu Qingli finally returned to the set. Hong Qingyi and Chi Mengyan were already waiting for them with water bottles and towels at the ready. Today’s first scene would only have Mu Qingli perform while Gu Anran would only start in the second scene. As Mu Qingli walked onto the set, Hong Qingyi nudged Gu Anran subtly without anyone noticing.

Feeling Hong Qingyi’s small movements, Gu Anran nodded gently and raised her eyes.

What is the purpose of being a cold iceberg? Obviously to act as an air-conditioner, and freeze people up!

Everyone who was preparing to film only felt the air around them gradually get colder. Strange, no one messed with the air conditioner so why is the temperature getting lower in this weather? This better not be the case of global warming!

They turned their head to find the source of the cold and only saw their great Empress Gu stare at everyone coldly. Those icy eyes were filled with coldness and a warning. Ahhh, so scary! Mommy, where are you! Your child can’t stand the harshness of an icy blizzard!

This made the people who originally were planning nothing good towards Mu Qingli to clam up and act obediently. The people from yesterday who ‘welcomed’ this newcomer especially moved quietly without looking up. There was nothing they could do about it. Film Empress Gu’s freezing eyes kept glaring at them! Even their assistants were freezing up! It’s so chilly in here! We need hand warmers and big coats to stop the coldness! Wuwuwuwu…..

Perhaps it was because the aura around Gu Anran’s surrounding or because her eyes were too cold, for everyone kept to themselves and didn’t dare to mess up. After just three takes, they finished the first scene.

“Huu….” Mu Qingli breathed a sigh of relief. She had thought that it would be like the other day and she was hesitant on how to tell the director if it happened again. However, nothing happened at all. But why was everyone looking so weird, are they sick? (It seems this little withe rabbit is still a little too tender and naive, not even having the common sense to read the frightened expressions on people’s faces!)

If everyone knew what Mu Qingli was thinking, they would roll their eyes collectively. How is someone this slow? Is someone like this really ready to face the darkness of the entertainment industry?!

The scene was about to begin and Gu Anran made way to her position. That is, she was standing in front of Mu Qingli. She nodded towards Mu Qingli before it began, silently praising the girl and causing Mu Qingli to beam in joy.

Yay! Anran praised me! So happy! So lucky!

In this scene, Gu Anran as Qinghe was to confront the Second Madam with Cui Qianqian and Mu Qingli as her maids.

“Second Madam, Second Young Master, your tea.” The maids handed a teacup to the Second Madam respectfully.

“En.” The Second Madam pretends to accept the tea gracefully. She held out her hand and quietly fiddled with the tea lid as she sipped slowly, the picture of sophisticated elegance.

Unlike the Second Madam, the Second Young Master that was sitting next to them, Qingyan, took his tea and drank it in one sip. There was no gracefulness in his form and he basically drank it like milk, wasting a good cup of tea.

“Mother, I heard Qinghe is back.” Qingyan’s face was full of jealousy. As the son of the Second Madam, his standing was only worthy of the title of Second Young Master of this mountain village. He was quite jealous of Qinghe who was above him in title. In his eyes, a woman should stay within the residence. Why did his sister go out and fight everyday instead? Same with his father! The woman will leave after getting married, so why did his father favor his half-sister so much!

“And so? Qinghe cannot charge in here and say anything to me. Yan’er, what are you so nervous about?” Second Madam savored her sips quietly.

“That’s true.” Qingyan nodded. So what if she was a young lady with a strong spirit? Etiquette and filial piety cannot be overlooked that easily!

Bang…

The door was pushed open and the two teacups in their hands shook from the vibrations. They looked at the door in shock as the person they didn’t expect to come entered the room.

“Second Madam.” Qinghe led the two maids into the room, taking confident strides as she walked in.

“Why did the Eldest Young Miss come here to see this concubine?” The Second Madam forced a false smile on her face, and her eyes were full of hostility as she looked at Qinghe. The words she had spoken were a mere formality, but it was as if it was the hardest thing for her to do.

“I heard that when I was out, Second Madam’s people took good care of my maid.” Qinghe’s expression was blank and her cold eyes swept over Second Madam. It was as if the other party was not worthy in her eyes. This made the other party angry and the fake smile on her face almost dropped. However, it was Second Young Master Qingyan that couldn’t hold it in any longer.

“Qinghe, my mother is still your elder! Why do you speak to her like this! Where are your manners? Did your mother not teach you anything?”

Qingyan’s words made Qinghe’s eyes narrow slightly, and the surrounding temperature dropped rapidly. Her eyes looked at Qingyan without any emotions. No one can insult her birth mother, not even this so-called half brother of hers. This younger brother of hers was not favored, untalented in both martial arts and business.

“Manners? That will depend on the person.”

“You!” Qingyan pulled out his long sword and moved forward to hurt Qinghe.

“Yan’er!”

“Eldest Miss!”

The screams stopped, however, as everyone looked at Winghe and Qingyan in amazement.

They had only seen Qinghe stretch out two fingers before effortlessly catching the sword. Qingyan’s face was red as if he was exerting great strength and yet he couldn’t move an inch.

This made everyone once again realize the power of their Eldest Miss. They had heard the Eldest Miss had a great reputation among the Jianhu and had never seen her in action before. Now seeing her like this, they realized the rumors were all true.

“Trash is still just trash.” Qinghe said lightly before using her two fingers to break the sword into two pieces that fell to the ground. Qingyan staggered to his knees and tried to stand and attack again with his broken sword. However, a great pressure bore down onto him and his eyes looked up to see what was above him. The eyes that stared back were thick with killing intent. Although it was only for a moment, it made Qingyan, the respected young master, pee his pants.

The entire room was filled with a disgusting stench and Qinghe’s expressionless face wrinkled a little. Congratulations, Second Young Master! You have used a ‘strange’ but effective trick to break Qinghe’s usually frozen face!

“Qinghe, what is the meaning of this!” Seeing her own son lying in front of everyone while making a fool of himself, the Second Madam could not take it anymore. Even a person with greater patience and high endurance would not be able to stand by and watch, much less the Second Madam.

“Meaning? Shouldn’t I ask Second Madam that? Your son was the one who attacked me indiscriminately. Tell me, what is the meaning of your actions?”

Second Madam’s depression was grim, she knew that she was the one responsible. After all, it was her son who attacked first. However, Second Madama could not let this go. Why was that woman’s child so powerful? She was just a girl! (Like Mother, like son….)

“Qinghe,  as a woman myself, let me give you some advice. As a girl, you should stay home and learn embroidery, music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. All this killing and violence should be left for the men to deal with. If you continue on like this, you won’t be able to marry in the future.”

“As for that matter, Second Madam does not need to worry about it,” Qinghe said coldly and then turned with her maids following behind her.

“Cut! Good!” Director Li nodded in satisfaction. It was very rare for a scene to be finished in one take. His originally sullen mood was now a little more cheerful as he shouted loudly,

“Ten-minute break!”

Gu Anran gestures at Mu Qingli to follow and sit down for a break when….

“Sister Gu, wait!” Cui Qingqian yelled.

Gu Anran tilted her head slightly but did not speak. She naturally would not talk to someone as two-faced as Cui Qianqian. Otherwise, she would feel like her IQ would be lowered. However, on this set, where many pairs of eyes were watching her every move, Gu Anran could not ignore her so easily.

“I want to ask you something about the script.” Cui Qianqian smiled sweetly.

Gu Anran glanced down at the part of the Script Cui Qianqian was pointing at and frowned ever so slightly. She always felt unpleasant while being near Cui Qianqian, but the feeling just now flashed so quickly, that it could’ve been an illusion.

“Sister Gu, look here….”

Cui Qianqian asked Gu Anran in a serious manner and Gu Anran couldn’t outright fight the woman as she listened impatiently. She could only endure and then give her some concise words in advice.

“Thank you, Sister Gu. I really learned a lot from that.” Cui Qianqian bowed with a sweet smile.

Gu Anran nodded and watched as Cui Qianqian turned around, a strange smile tugging at the edges of the malicious woman’s lips.

Suddenly a ‘snap’ sound rang out, like the sound of something breaking. Gu Anran’s footsteps stopped and looked around. There was nothing abnormal around her, was she just being too sensitive.

“Anran, what’s wrong?” Mu Qingli asked.

“No…nothing. Let’s go.” Gu Anran shook her head and just as she was about to move forward again, the sound of a ‘bump’ and then a cracking sound, much louder this time, sounded out. Everyone heard it this time and stopped talking.

“Anran, Qingli, above your head!” Gu Anran heard Hong Qingyi cry in a panic.

Ka-da! Ka-da!

It sounded like many things were breaking and Gu Anran raised her head, only to see a row of stage lights falling towards them. Gu Anran only felt her mind go blank as her body moved to rush towards Mu Qingli.

Author’s notes:

And so, Gu Anran and Mu Qingli died.

The system judges that 「the missions were incomplete and then had both host’s souls wiped out of existence.」

—-The End—-

Sprinkle confetti~

T/N:

Obviously the novel doesn’t end there but the author likes to play tricks on their readers. Just go along with it…
