Ch.83- Do you guys only know how to tease me? 

After spending a day talking with Su Chenyu, and then watching a movie and going out to eat, the two of them had to return to their work. After all, they were popular artists with very busy schedules. 

However, Wen Jiexi was still happy she gotta have fun with her Sister Su. She would be happy going anywhere with Sister Su, even if it means they would just sit down somewhere and stare quite at each other. Overall, she felt content with anything. Was this the so-called honeymoon period? It felt rather nice. 

She returned to her villa and then waved goodbye with an armful of snacks as she watched Su Chenyu’s car leave. She didn’t go inside for a long while, until the car disappeared completely in the distance. She continued to look at the horizon, and at that moment, she finally understood what it was like to be a wife awaiting for the return of her husband. She sighed and then turned around. 

“Aiya~ Aiya~ The wife has returned from her honeymoon~” Li Lingmeng, who was currently gnawing a bbq chicken leg in one hand and drinking coke from the can in the other, looked like a deadbeat uncle as she greeted Wen Jiexi from the couch. 

“Little Emng, when did you become like this….” Wen Jiexi said dryly and then quickly put the things in her hands on the table as she sat next to Li Lingmeng. 

“Hey, don’t get so close to me, you’re exuding a strong sour smell of love. This single dog can’t bear it.” Li Lingmeng raised her head bluntly. She didn’t have a single boyfriend or girlfriend in all her 20 years of life but everyone around her was now paired up. Even Little Xi, who she thought was the most wooden-headed of them all, was able to get a girlfriend! And it was her most respected Goddess Su! Just the thought of her made her lament in despair! Really, just how much more pathetic can her situation get? 

“Little Meng, I-I…my body does it smell?!” Wen Jiexi sniffed herself and couldn’t smell anything. Then she jumped up with a panicked expression. What if she was emitting a sour smell during her date with Sister Su?!! How shameful! 

The veins on Li Lingmeng’s forehead jumped she grabbed Wen Jiexi’s cheeks with both hands, pinching them harshly as she said through gritted teeth, 

“I don’t understand how a wooden-headed fishbrain like you got together with Goddess Su! It’s not scientific!” 

“Wuwuwu….but Goddess Su was the one who confessed to me!” Wen Jiexi sadi with a pout. She didn’t do anything! She was the one who was pursued, ok! 

“What’s so surprising about that. With you’re EQ, I bet that even if you did feel your heart race you would’ve said something like ‘oh, I must be sick’ or something even more stupid like that! Then you’ll just treat it as if nothing had happened!” Li Lingmeng rolled her eyes in disgust. 

Wen Jiexi had nothing to say, because Li Lingmeng had dexsrbided what happened quite accurately. She rubbed her nose embarrassedly…well, she’s someone who’s in a relationship now! She won’t stoop as low as to fight with a pitiful single dog! 

Seeing Wen Jiexi’s expression go from guilty to smug in a blink of an eye, the corners of Li Lingmeng’s mouth twitched. She sometimes really didn’t understand how Goddess Su could fall in love with someone like Wen Jiexi who wore her heart on her sleeve. Actually, this person had become even more stupid because of Su Chenyu. 

Su Chenyu: No, no, I like it when Jiexi is like this! It’ll be better if she cares about me a little more too! 

Peng! 

At that moment, the back door slammed open and Xue Molin walked in with a rosy face and a cheerful smile on that face. 

“Kids, Grandma is back!” 

“It’s only been one night and half a day. What did she go through to change that much?” Li Lingmeng muttered beside Wen Jiexi.

Wen Jiexi studied Xue Molin carefully. Indeed, the agent with the usually sharp aura seemed to have disappeared. The sharpness that used to keep people out seemed to have disappeared and been replaced with a strange softness that made people want to actually get  along with her. 

“Sister Xue, has something good happened?” Wen Jiexi asked, tilting her head. Was that one address from Sister Su so powerful that it can completely change someone? 

“Hehe, you little brats wouldn’t understand!” Xue Molin stuck her hands on her hips and looked strangely at the little kids in front of her. She didn’t even feel angry at Li Lingmeng’s words. Whenever she thought about a certain someone waiting for her at home, her heart was filled with peace and a sense of sweetness enveloped her. The world became beautiful again. 

“I smell the sour stench of love again.” Li Lingmeng curled her lips. She remembered about the address Goddess Su said yesterday and reasonably guessed that Xue Molin had probably successfully chased down her lover. 

Because of Xue Molin’s hatred towards the Feng family, it affected her attitude with others as well and so many people stayed away from her. Yesterday, after seeing the standoff between Xue Molin and the Feng family’s patriarch, she had pestered her sister to tell her everything about the Xue vs. Feng family blood feud. Then she learned that the object of Sister Xue’s affection was none other than Wang Anyi, the Goddess Su’s legendary agent! This was big news! Previously she had thought the atmosphere between the two was strange, now she understood why! 

And now because of Goddess Su’s assistance, the misunderstanding was cleared up, Xue Molin successfully chased down her wife and has embarked on a life of happiness! Li Lingmeng felt both envious and jealous. Everyone else is cozying up with their lover, leaving her, this her all alone with no one to love! I’m not happy!!!! Where is my significant other!!!! 

“Gather around, I’m here to talk to Jiexi about her next gig.” Xue Molin rolled her eyes but ignored Li Lingmeng’s envious look. Hehe, she has a girlfriend again so she won’t stoop as low as to fight with a single dog!

“Jiexi, come, sit here. I got something awesome for you.” Xue Molin took out a stack of papers from her bag. 

“Um….Sister Xue.” Wen Jiexi said hesitantly as she looked up at Xue Molin. 

“En?” Xue Molin raised an eyebrow and stared back. 

“It’s like this…..Director Peng is making a Wuxia film. I want to try out for a role.” Wen Jiexi looked at Xue Molin heistatntly. She was afraid Xue Molin would tell her no, that she was only a newcomer of barely three months and that Director Peng’s film was too high level for her. 

“….” Xue Molin stared at Wen Jiexi in silence for a long time, so much so that Wen Jiexi felt the back of her neck stand up. Finally the fox-like woman spoke, 

“Alright, no problem.” 

“Huh?” Wen Jiexi was stunned, she didn’t expect Sister Xue to agree so easily! 

“I came here today to talk to you today was to tell you about the film. With that letter of recommendation, it would be a shame not to use it. Here is some information on some of the films Director Peng has filmed in the past. Make sure to read it carefully.” Xue Molin patted the large stack of papers on the table and said. 

“Wha…..” When is she going to be able to finish all this? If she was a dog, her ears would probably be flattened against her head right now. However, this was all for her own good so all she can do is to read the papers and cry to herself quietly. 

“By the way, how did you know Director Peng was going to make a new film?” Xue Molin asked with a raised eyebrow. 

“Sister Su told me, and she said that as long as there are no surprises, she’s going to be the female lead!” Wen Jiexi smiled. She’s going to fight with all her might to get into the same film as Sister Su! 

“Tsk, it seems the two of you both want a piece of what the other is having wherever you go.” Xue Molin rubbed her chin in thought, “Anyhow, the variety show is still airing new episodes every few days so your popularity will continue to rise. It’s not a big deal if you don’t take up any jobs right now. Might as well polish your acting skills at home.” After she finished speaking, she gave Wen Jiexi a thumbs up. 

However, inside her head she was thinking secretly: Hehe, if Jiexi gets into the film, doesn’t that mean she will get to share a room with Little Yiyi? I’m getting excited just thinking about it! Jiexi, for the sake of this old woman’s happiness, it’s time for some devilish training! 

Wen Jiexi: Brrr…why did I feel a chill go down my back. 

Li Lingmeng: This is just all routine….single dogs must suffer while couples get to be happy.

As a result, Wen Jiexi was forced to practice her acting with Sister Su over video cups and forced to drink five cups of papaya milk and three pots of green papaya stew every day. After drinking so much, Wen Jiexi felt like vomiting. She felt that she might need the advanced skill book as well, but unfortunately she could only buy an intermediate level skill book in the short amount of time she had and then work hard on perfecting the rest through practice. 

“Ai….life is so hard….” Wen Jiexi said weakly while lying on her bed and reading her script again. She had to practice her expressions in the mirror everyday and do her missions at the same time. She felt like a robot. Everyday it was she ran on the treadmill while reading her script, did jumping jacks while reading the script and even did sit-ups while reading the scripped. She has to throw away at least 3 copies of the script due to how many times her sweat had dripped onto the pages. From this, one can see how desperate Wen Jiexi is.

“What’s wrong, Jiexi? You just need another 100 missions, so there’s no need to worry. In fact, I never expected from you to have completed nearly 1000 missions in ten days. Now the golden mission is already full and you’ve already achieved over 40,000 points! There is no problem for you to buy an intermediate level acting skills book! “Are you trying to advertise a product to me or something?” Wen Jiexi grabbed Dango’s head and began ruthlessly pinching those cheeks.

“Yes, yes, thank you so very much.” Wen Jiexi looked at Dango helplessly. The little ghost was becoming more arrogant by the day. But it is as Dango said, after the past few days of hard work, she finally is about to reach contractor Lvl.6. Ah, she also saved up some points in case of an emergency. 

Awooooooo! At this moment, a dog barked outside her window. Wen Jiexi got up lazily, opened the door, and saw Big Black sticking out her tongue with a smile. Oh, her brother had come to her villa again. He had been using the excuse of seeing Big Black to come visit her. Of course, Wen Jiexi didn’t mind him dropping in from time to time. 

Wen Linshu rubbed Big Black’s head and his eyes met his sister’s gaze.

However, he never expected his mother to say that if he didn’t go home, she would change his gender on his birth certificate from mael to female. If he didn’t want to wear a dress as punishment, might as well no longer come home as a son anymore! 

So should he wear it or not? In the end, only a fool would choose nothing. And so, in this way, Wen Linshu returned home in tears and suffered through a month of torture. And his entire humiliation was documented by Tan Yashi. From time to time, his mother sometimes even shared these photos with his friends that came over. If it weren’t for Wen Linshu’s begging, these photos might even be shared with his lovely little sister. 

And since there was a first time, there was naturally a second. Anytime Tan Yashi was angry, she would make him wear women’s clothing. Tan Yashi always said it’s because her daughter is too ill and so she can’t enjoy a mother’s happiness of shopping for clothes with her daughter. So she had her son stand-in as her second daughter. 

And so, a scene like this would play out, 

Tan Yashi holding up a pettiskirt: “Son, look at this. Don’t you think this would look good on your sister?” 

A young Wen Linshu’s eyes brightened: “She’ll definitely look cute in that!” 

Tan Yashi then made a sad expression: “But you’re sister she….her body is too weak to try it on. I don’t know if it will fit her….” 

Wne Linshu, who believed himself to be an adult despite still obviously being just a little kid, patted his chest and said: “Don’t worry, Mom! Let me go!” 

And so a series of torturous schemes was carried out. 

Wne Linshu: Just thinking about it causes bitter tears to flow down my face! This is my dark past! How could a mother trick her son like this! Yes I protected my sister, but it’s a big sin to trick a fragile boy like me!

“This is the finalized version of the script, study it carefully. Since the role of the female lead is taken, I hope you can fight for this role. The character is named Li Ying. This is my first choice that I believe will filt you. Since it’s a Wuxia film, the skill requirements are rather high. Her character needs a lot of skill but her personality suits you rather well. She can be regarded as the third female lead in this film. As for the others, I circled some more potential roles for you in red. If you don’t like the third female lead, you can choose one of the others. 

“Alright, Sister Xue, I understand.” Wen Jiexi thanked her and accepted the script.

At that moment, her phone rang with a request for a video call. Seeing the words ‘Sister Su’ light up her screen, Wen Jiexi’s face turned red and she looked over at Xue Molin. 

“I got it, I got it.” Xue Molin smiled and patted Wen Jiexi on the shoulder, “Anyhow, make sure to study the script and tell me if you have any questions….no, go ask your Sister Su. I believe she will be more than happy to answer your questions.” After saying so, she left behind the blushing Wen Jiexi as she led Big Black back inside.
