Ch.97-A group of uninvited people? !

Time flies by when you’re having fun. Wen Jiexi felt drowsy as she watched the nonsensical programs on TV and decided to read her script instead when she heard a knock on the door. 

She glanced at the clock. It was only three in the afternoon. Sister Su should be back at five at the earliest, so who was knocking on her door? 

She scratched her head in confusion and walked over to open the door. Outside stood a woman in a black dress, her face covered by a mask and large sunglasses. However, looking at the woman’s figure and the outline of her face, one could tell that she should be a rather beautiful woman. 

“Hello….excuse me, but who are you looking for?” Wen Jiexi said hesitantly. She was sure she had never seen this woman before, so why did she knock on her door?

“Uh…huh? You are….” The woman also seemed rather startled and stepped back in surprise. 

“I’m the guest staying in this room.” Wen Jiexi didn’t tell her who she was because although she knows she could most definitely beat this woman in a fight, it was better to be safe than sorry. 

The woman checked the number on the door then looked down at her hand before looking back up in embarrassment, “This….do you know where room 388 is?” 

So it turned out that the woman just went to the wrong room. Wen Jiexi felt both a little relieved and amused. How could anyone get lost in a hotel? She pointed to the corridor outside,

“I believe that the 300s rooms start at that corridor over there. If you go straight, turn right, and then turn left, you should be able to see it.” 

“Thank you.” The woman’s face was a little red as she nodded gratefully towards Wen Jiexi. At this moment, her phone started ringing. She quickly looked at the screen and then answered it after seeing the caller id. With a sweet smile on her face, she nodded at Wen Jiexi and then turned around and left, 

“Hi, Ah-He. En, ok, no, no, I’m fine, don’t worry about it. Alright, I understand, bye.” 

Wen Jiexi scratched her head in confusion as she watched the woman leave. Ah-He? Could it be….Chu He? Chu Heling’s older brother? But how could someone cold and stoic like a woman so gentle and….naive? 

Whatever, it’s not her problem. She threw the matter to the side and returned to her couch to continue her couch potato lifestyle of eating chips and watching TV. 

However, all good things come to an end. The sound of the door opening caused Wen Jiexi to stiffen. With one hand, she quickly grabbed the juice on the table next to her. She had just taken out this bottle from the refrigerator so it was still quite cold. She remembered Sister Su scolding her about drinking cold stuff. 

She quickly downed the juice as fast as she could. However, she drank way too fast and it caused her to choke. She patted her chest hurriedly and coughed violently, but didn’t forget to throw the bottle in her hand into the trash. 

So when Su Chenyu entered the room, she happened upon the scene of her lover coughing and choking. However, the guilty look in her eyes made it obvious to Su Chenyu that her lover had done something that would make her unhappy. She scanned the room quietly. She noticed a circle of water droplets on the table that Wen Jiexi had forgotten to wipe and raised her eyebrow. It seems like she had figured out exactly what her lover did and that her lover tried to hide it from her. 

“Why are you always so careless?” Su Chenyu sat beside Wen Jiexi and patted the coughing girl’s back rather helplessly. 

“Uh…..I just drank my water a little too fast and choked on it accidentally.” Wen Jiexi quietly studied Su Chenyu’s expression from the corner of her eyes with a slightly guilty expression on her own face. 

Dango facepalmed: Jiexi, you’re so bad at this. Even an idiot can tell that you did something bad, okay? Even I can’t bear to look straight at you. 

“Is that so….” 

Hearing the other party purposely drag out their tone, Wen Jiexi felt her heartbeat quicken. Her face was red, but she refused to cough. Her chest felt uncomfortable and her heart was anxious, but she wouldn’t let Sister Su discover her little secret. 

“What have you been up to all day?” Su Chenyu asked nonchalantly, grabbing a potato chip from the bag nearby. 

“Wuu….I just went out for a bit and then stayed in my room for the rest of the day.” Wen Jiexi scratched her nose and did not hide the fact that she went out earlier. After all, with the piles of food in the refrigerator and on the table, how was she supposed to hide it? 

“Weren’t you going to rest in your room today?” Su Chenyu raised an eyebrow.

“This…it’s boring to stay in a room all day and the TV doesn’t have anything good on it so…” Wen Jiexi said pitifully while clutching Su Chenyu’s arm. She was like a child begging her mom for something. 

“What did you buy?” Su Chenyu continued her questioning. 

“I went to that dessert shop again and then bought all their desserts again! So after dinner tonight, let’s eat them together!” Wen Jiexi went over to the refrigerator and then opened it to show Su Chenyu the food. Almost two-thirds of the fridge was filled with pastries and Wen Jiexi showed them off with a sense of price. 

“I’m surprised that the staff was willing to sell you the cakes.” Su Chenyu said with a chuckle. 

“Ugh…” Wen Jiexi clutched her chest like she had just been shot through the heart. How did Sister Su know about the fact that the employee had thought she was wasting food? Could it be because they are on the same wavelengths because they are in love? 

A disappointed Dango watched from the side: How are you so stupid? Someone must have been following, otherwise, how would they have known about your interaction with the employee? 

“Well, come over here.” Su Chenyu beckoned at Wen Jiexi and Wen Jiexi obediently walked over. Su Chenyu grabbed Wen Jiexi’s hand and then hugged her into her arms before biting one of Wen Jiexi’s soft earlobes. She then asked in a light voice, “Was the cold juice tasty?” 

“Obviously it was delicious, you know I like….” Wen Jiexi was overwhelmed by the hug earlier so she had unconsciously just said whatever was on her mind. When she realized her mistake she immediately tried to correct her words, “Ahem, I mean, I had room temperature juice, yup, hahaha…..” 

“Still lying?” Su Chenyu squeezed Wen Jiexi’s cheek helplessly. 

“Wuwu, I’m sorry.” Wen Jiexi said pitifully. 

“When your that arrives, and it hurts, don’t come complaining to me.” Su Chenyu said mercilessly. (T/N: She’s referring to Wen Jiexi’s period. In Chinese medicine, they believe that drinking too much cold stuff can harm the uterus and would cause really bad period pain. This is based on the belief that women have too much yin energy in them and yin energy is known to be cold/dark so eating/drinking cold stuff will cause an over excess of yin energy) 

Dango: Jiexi, can’t you be a little more stubborn. Do you even know how to write the word stubborn for that matter?!!

“Ai.” Su Chenyu sighed lightly and patted Wen Jiexi’s head. Every time she faced Wen Jiexi, she felt her heart go soft and so she always felt reluctant to punish her. 

Knock. Knock. 

Someone was knocking at the door again. 

“I’ll get that!” Wen Jiexi quickly got up and ran to open the door. 

“Oh, Little Xi, what are you doing?” Li Lingmeng looked up at her with a mischievous smile. She then studied Wen Jiexi’s neck closely for traces of…ah, there it is. 

Meeting Li Lingmeng’s teasing gaze, Wen Jiexi quickly clutched her neck and then glared at the other party. She wanted to close the door in her friend’s face but then saw Xue Mo Lin and Wang Anyi behind Li Lingmeng, she could only dispel this idea, and let them in. 

Unexpectedly, Li Lingqing and Chu Heling were also outside. 

“Huh? Sister Qing, Sister He Ling, why are you guys here?” Wen Jiexi asked in surprise. 

“I need to discuss something with a certain someone.” Li Lingqing replied vaguely and shrugged. 

“Jiexi, how are your wounds, are they infected?” Chu Heling asked with some worry when she saw the bandage on Wen Jiexi’s face. 

“I’m fine, Sister Su immediately bandaged me when I came back!” Wen Jiexi waved her hand and said.

“Hmph, don’t worry about her too much, I’m sure she’s just fine.” Li Lingqing said huffily and then hugged Chu Heling closely to her. Wen Jiexi only scratched her head in confusion. 

She was just about to close the door when another person showed up. It was that lost woman from before. The other party also seemed surprised to see her. 

“Ah! We meet again! You are…Jiexi, right?”

“Yeah, that’s me, are you lost again?” Wen Jiexi said puzzledly. Could it be that the other party was lost again and came over to ask for directions again? If so, her sense of direction must be really bad….

“No, no, I came here with Ah-He.” The woman touched her cheek awkwardly and then stepped to the side to reveal the familiar figure of Chu He behind her. 

“Huh, Brother Chu He, you’re here too…..” Wen Jiexi studied the two of them. Unexpectedly the two of them looked rather good together. 

“Surprised?” Chu He raised his eyebrows slightly and then grabbed the woman’s hand. The woman blushed fiercely and Chu He introduced her, 

“This is Sister Xue…Aunt Xue’s niece, Xue Poran. She’s a teacher.” 

“Hello, nice to mee-” Wen Jiexi nodded towards Xue Poran, but before she could finish her greeting something flew past her head. 

A pillow rushed towards Chu He’s face and Xue Molin’s voice sounded out from behind her, “Who are you calling niece? She’s my little sister, alright?” 

“Yes, yes, big sister, whatever you say, but please don’t hurt Ah-He.” Xue Poran caught the pillow before it could snake into Chu He and then replied back in a sweet tone. 

“Ugh…” Xue Molin hugged her arms and shivered in mock disgust. Wang Anyi slapped the back of her head lightly, but Xue Molin continued her theatrics as she pretended to wipe nonexistent tears from the corner of her eye, 

“Wuwuwu, my little sister is all grown up and doesn’t listen to her big sister anymore. Now that she has a boyfriend, she doesn’t want this big sister anymore. I’m so sad.” 

Xue Poran flushed a deep red and quickly released Chu He’s hand as she rushed over towards Xue Molin with an expression of shame and guilt. 

“And this is….” Wen Jiexi’s attention turned back to the door because there was another strange man beside Chu He who was roughly the same height as Chu He. They looked somewhat similar so he must be related to Chu He. 

“This is my eldest brother and the next heir of the Chu family. He’s also a playboy, so be careful around him.” Chu He briefly introduced the man next to him and even added a sentence that made Wen Jiexi raise her eyebrow. Who would willingly insult their brother in front of strangers like this? 

“Stop spewing nonsense.” Chu Feng glared at his idiotic second brother and raised his leg to step on Chu He’s feet, but unfortunately, his sneak attack was unsuccessful. 

He rolled his eyes at the smug-looking Chu He and then stretched out a hand towards Wen Jiexi, 

“Hello, future Mrs. Su. I am Chu Feng and please don’t listen to my brother’s rather arbitrary words, I am actually a very loyal person.” 

Chu Feng had the same fox eyes that Xue Molin has but it didn’t look intimidating at all and made him look sharp instead. Combine that with his good looks and he’s….really attractive. And from the interaction between the two brothers just now, the Chu siblings must be really close to each other. 

“Hello, Mr. Chu Feng. Please, come in.” Wen Jiexi shook hands with Chu Feng and let them in. Then she peeked out her door, looking around to make sure there was no one else hiding behind them, and then closed the door after them. 

She turned around to face the room. Originally with only two people, the room was rather spacious but now with the sudden entrance of ten people, it was not so empty anymore but not yet crowded. However, the sofa could only fit so many people so not everyone could sit down. 

“Sister Su, what day is it today? Why are there so many people here?” Wen Jiexi whispered to Su Chenyu. 

“They are all uninvited guests. However, it seems they have planned this.” Su Chenyu hugged the person beside her. As for these annoying pests who had dropped in unannounced and dared to disturb their alone time, whether it is unintentional or not…..they will be punished for this later. 

Perhaps it was because Su Chenyu’s glare was just too strong for the noisy room to suddenly quiet down. Chu Feng coughed dryly and then took out a computer from his bag. He then clicked open a file and then flipped the screen around to show it to everyone. 

“Now because Chenyu told us to speed things up, the Feng family’s stocks have plummeted drastically. No matter if it’s their business in the underworld or the business world, all of them are experiencing troubles. From the data we’ve collected, about 80% of their businesses have gone bankrupt. And the results from last night have exceeded about one-third of the previous week’s results. Everything is going rather smoothly.” 

“Is that not a good thing? With the constant in-fighting in the Feng family, they won’t have enough resources to block our attacks. Even if we were to declare all-out war right now, they might not be able to resist as they will be too afraid of another force stabbing them in the back.” Xue Molin said with a tone full of disdain. 

“All we need to do is set the fire and they’ll do all the fighting within their factions. Then like the oriole, we’ll be able to catch the mantis and cicada in one fell swoop. Most of our current success happened this way. We had a lot fewer casualties than I expected. The Feng family are the best!” Li Lingqing said sarcastically as she mocked the Feng family. 

“From our current predictions, we believe most of the Feng family’s forces will be dealt with by the end of this week. However, the more troublesome forces are still hidden in the shadows and hidden much deeper than we thought. Cleaning out the remaining of their forces still hidden in the dark will take some time, especially the last two. But with how many clues we already have, I believe we shall be finished dealing with them soon.” Chu Feng said and pointed to a graph on his file. 

As for the hidden forces he spoke of, almost everyone present understood what they were. The remaining two forces were the dirtiest and most despicable forces of the Feng family. Although the evidence they have in their hands was enough to make the Feng family fall from grace and out of the upper-class society, their leader Su Chenyu had ordered them to not only destroy the Feng family but to make them even worse than rats. 

Su Chenyu has often heard her grandfather complain about the Feng family. Although the Feng family members advocated for inner competition and that it can raise a family’s status so much so that the Feng family was able to compete with the Su family, the aggressive inner competition has forced the members to turn on each other. No matter how good one’s background is, after so much fighting and backstabbing, eventually the family will decline. And all Su Chenyu and the rest have to do is speed up that process. 

“The Feng family’s destruction is playing out faster than I had imagined.” Su Chenyu tapped her fingers lightly against her armchair. Although she had been sure of her overwhelming victory before, she had thought they would hold out for a few months since they were the second strongest among the major families but they didn’t even last half a month. Just like her grandfather has once said, the competitiveness of the Feng family was a double-edged sword and had cost more than they could afford. With just a little push from her, they had fallen rather quickly. 

“However, we must be careful these next few days. You must have another person with you at all times. After Jiexi’s botched kidnapping, I believe that they will try something more drastic. They will most likely try to drag us all down with them.” Xue Molin said. 

“Huh? So Sister Xue thinks that the Feng family will still focus on us?” Chu Feng raised an eyebrow. 

“Since there has been a precedent, doesn’t this show that they will try something again? I believe that after they failed to kidnap Jiexi, they probably decided she is too much trouble to deal with. So Jiexi should be safe for the time being, but that safety does not extend to the rest of us. Even if we know a little self-defense, it will be worthless. If we have to face several of them at once, we will be at a big disadvantage. And if even one person is caught by them, our plan will be greatly delayed and….I believe all of you are quite familiar with the Feng family’s tactics….” Xue Molin frowned and then looked over at Wen Jiexi. 

The Feng family’s tactics….Wen Jiexi pursed her lips. Her brother had sent her some information about that before. If one is caught by the Feng family, they will become a bargaining chip and a hostage. Moreover, the Feng family is greedy. If they kidnap even one person, they will kidnap a second one. Before a small family had offended them so they kidnapped both their daughter and son. 

And after handing over what the Feng family wanted the son and daughter were sent back but they were not unharmed. The son came back with a broken hand and leg, one of his eyeballs was also dug out. He was not given any medicine so the wound became infected and he developed seizures and a high fever that burned his brain until he became mentally retarded. 

The daughter came back in a similar state as her brother. Her body was covered in bruises, whiplashes, and rope burns. There were even burns caused by candle wax in some of her private places. Anyone with eyes could understand what had happened to her. After some lab examinations, it was revealed that she had been gang-raped as well. When she was returned home, she didn’t respond to anyone and became mute. A few days later, she committed suicide by jumping off a building. (T/N: A not so fun fact, but I did not know what the characters for gang rape meant at first since it just said: “被轮x” which meant they censored the third character with an ‘x’. So I had to go search it up on Baidu and I wish I hadn’t. I saw some things I wish I could forget.)

That small family only had this one pair of daughter and son and yet they had become like this. The family’s resentment towards the Feng family reached its extreme, and they wanted to sue, but the Feng family’s ability to cover their misdeeds was just too strong. They couldn’t ask for help and in the end, were dragged into the alley and beaten to a pulp. 

Finally, the head of the family decided to take his wife and his remaining child to some factory the Feng family was in charge of. He bound a couple of explosives to him and his family and then blew up the entire factory. There were a lot of casualties that day but the Feng family suppressed the news from spreading. 

Of course, this was not the only family they destroyed. This small family was just one of many and there were many more who ended up in even more miserable situations. It can be said that the Feng family has harmed countless people and broken countless families. To many people, the Feng family’s status as a major family only leads to disaster and their conduct leads to widespread hate and disdain. So much so that their graves were most likely desecrated by their victims. Even Wen Jiexi wanted to rush over and beat up the Feng family members. 

And the number of women harmed by the Feng family were in the thousands. They acted as horny dogs and kept most of the women for fun. Even the women of the Feng family were not much better as they kept many beautiful men like they were raising their own personal harems. Every member is extravagant and domineering, that it became something of a style within the Feng family. 

Looking at the sour faces of the other people around her, she could tell that everyone knew about the Feng family’s ‘great deeds’ and not one of them would want to be caught by them. They were all big heirs and heiresses of their family so if they were to be crippled then it would cause a big blow to their family. Therefore, they must support one another so none of them would land in such a desperate situation. 

“Ran-ran, I think it’s best if you don’t go to school for a while. Just live here.” Chu He held Xue Poran’s hand tightly with worry in his eyes. A school is a crowded place, especially since it is a university where anyone can enter or leave. Undoubtedly, it was one of the most dangerous places right now. 

“This…alright….” Xue Poran wanted to refuse at first but after seeing the worry in his eyes she hesitantly agreed. She should be fine as long as she asked for leave first. 

“Chenyu, you’r film crew should also send some extra personnel along and anyone acting suspiciously should be immediately expelled.” Xue Molin said and looked over at Su Chenyu. 

“I know.” Su Chenyu was organizing the documents when she heard what Xue Molin said and then pointed towards the ground, “I will also get some people to add some security in the hotel. If you feel like you’re in danger, make sure to come to this hotel. And make sure to leave some people behind to take care of the important business, otherwise, the Feng family might stir up some trouble.” 

“Understood.” 

“Ok!” 

“Why don’t we post some of that evidence on the Feng family online for people to see~ As long as we suppress them, our respective circles will know and won’t public pressure drown them as well? That way the Feng family will be too busy to try anything.” Xue Molin flashed her pearly whites as she pasted a wicked smile on her face. 

“I think that’ll work. I support the idea.” Chu Feng was the first to raise his hand in agreement and the others had no opinions so the idea was approved. 

“Hehehe, Jiexi, I believe your brother is the best for these kinds of things so we’ll leave it to Wen Linshu.” Xue Molin said as she crossed her arms. 

“Ah? That should be fine…” Wen Jiexi said. 

“Then that’s that. Anyhow, it was the Feng family who started it so we’ll make the fight a little more interesting.” Although this had almost nothing to do with Li Lingmeng, she still exclaimed her opinion enthusiastically. 

While everyone else was discussing their plans, Wen Jiexi opened the fridge and took out a box of cake. 

“Does anyone want to eat some cake?” 

“Oh! You have cakes?” 

“Jiexi is the best!” 

“I want to eat some! Me!” 

Although Wen Jiexi quietly divided up the cake, Wen Jiexi couldn’t help but burst into tears inside her heart. Wuwuwu, this cake was supposed to be for just Sister Su and me! QAQ
