Ch.98-An emergency in the bathroom?!

Three days passed quickly. In the past few days, Wen Jiexi stayed in the hotel obediently. Usually, Li Lingmeng would barge into her room while pulling Chu He’s future wife, Xue Poran, along with her. Together, the three of them ate the desserts and watched TV while chatting happily. 

As for Xue Molin, sometimes the three of them would go to her room and check up on her but would be kicked out by her. All they knew was that she was doing something on the computer and apparently it was important stuff but they really had no clue what she was doing. 

Meanwhile, on TV, there had been many reports about a certain family’s tax evasion, what a certain someone from a certain family did and that they were arrested by the police. It was stuff that most people would see daily on the news but the three bored people took a list compiled by Su Chenyu that had the names and photos of every member of the Feng family. Su Chenyu gave it to them, saying that they should memorize it as they could never be too careful.

They would compare the photos with the arrested people on TV. Nine out of ten of the arrested criminals were Feng family’s people and the recent number of arrests had caused the police stations to overflow. The police had to work overtime as well. The Feng family is the best! 

And there were more guards in the hotel as well. Every time Wen Jiexi pokes her head out, there will be people patrolling with walkie-talkies in the corridor. And she heard that the hotel no longer offered rooms for people to stay in and only specific people can enter. 

“Ah…..so many of the Feng family’s people have been arrested and yet there are still so many left. They’re like cockroaches.” Li Lingmeng waved the list full of red lines. Anyone who has been caught had their name crossed out in red. 

“Isn’t that comparison a bit insulting for the cockroaches?” Wen Jiexi shrugged as she ate her cake. Although cockroaches are disgusting, at least they have contributed to the world by becoming food for animals higher up on the food chain. And what contribution has the Feng family given? Except for some things they did out of self-interest, most of the stuff they had done was harmful, right? Just look at how many drugs and illegal goods they smuggled in and the number of people they had ruined. When Xue Poran, a righteous teacher, had learned about all their wrongdoings she was so angry that she slapped a table. Although she didn’t swear or curse, the indignation on her face clearly showed her raging anger. 

“The public’s opinion on the internet is going our way too. Sister Xue and Brother Wen would post some evidence, no matter how big or small, from time to time. Now so many of their misdeeds have been revealed and the people’s anger at the Feng family is overwhelming. The number of comments has reached several million and there have been so many reposts. Many people have issued slogans they are now using to boycott their business so there goes the Feng family’s money.” Xue Poran looked at the situation online and said. 

“I think those who have bought from the Feng family are probably regretting it now. Won’t they be afraid to be supplied by those wicked people? Heck, I’m afraid that some bad things have been mixed into those products.” Li Lingmeng held her cheeks and smiled.

“Don’t worry, this incident has caught the government’s attention. They have sent several teams to investigate the Feng Family. It seems that over five of their companies have already been investigated. Four of them are wine companies that have been shut down due to some problems that were revealed in the investigation.” Xue Poran with a smile, joy gleaming in her eyes. 

“Haha, it seems that the Feng family have really capsized this time. With so many industries shutting down, how many will survive? This is really eye-opening.” Li Lingmeng patted the table and laughed.

“But why haven’t the Feng family responded to anything that’s been going on? Don’t you think that’s weird?” Wen Jiexi leaned over Xue Poran’s shoulder to look at the computer. Indeed, the Feng family did not respond, nor did they rebut, despite everything that was happening. Although their evidence was sound and solid, there should at least have been a rebuttal. Were they really not going to say anything?

“They don’t have the time to do that. I heard from my sister that in addition to the industries they have on the surface, the Feng family has several industries in the underworld. They get their largest profits from doing dirty things, but now those industries are getting suppressed as well. So they are focusing on those industries instead. Anyhow, their reputations are already in the mud, they might as well try to keep their hidden profits instead. These industries are more valuable and if they work hard enough, they might even be able to make a comeback.” Li Lingmeng explained. 

“In other words, they want to become the kings of the underworld?” Wen Jiexi said with pursed lips. It truly would be better to become kings of the underworld then be suppressed by the other major families, but the Feng family seems to have forgotten that their underworld forces cannot compare to Long Junzhu’s family. 

Long Junzhu’s family heads the largest and most powerful triad in the underworld. However, although they are a part of the underworld, they do not participate in crimes as foul as the Feng family. On the contrary, it is recognized by the government and left alone as the underworld’s manager. If the Feng family wants to overthrow Long Junzhu’s family, it will not be an easy thing. Not only will they be provoking the most powerful triad, but the government will also not let them go. However, the Feng family seems to not have realized this and continue to do as they please. 

“Aiya, all we have to do is to quietly watch the Feng family fall.” Li Lingmeng said. To the three of them who didn’t understand a thing about all these politics, they didn’t really care too much about it. They just had to sit there and not make any trouble. 

“I hope this all blows over soon, so then I can go back to teaching.” Xue Poran said helplessly. 

“Yes, because of the Feng family, our actions are restricted and I can only stay in this room.” Wen Jiexi fell face down onto the sofa. Ai, she was on vacation yet she couldn’t go out and play. It was unbearable! She touched her already healed cheek. It was all the Feng family’s fault! She had looked up so many delicious places but she couldn’t go out and eat at any of them! She is not happy at all!

It was not only Wen Jiexi who had complaints, even Dango was unhappy about the situation. Dango wanted to go to the delicious places with Jiexi too! But that damn Feng family not only destroyed their food, but they also destroyed their precious freedom! Ahhhh, I will never forgive the Feng family!

“But at least we get to go back to filming the day after tomorrow. At that time, only Poran will be left behind. It’ll be really boring for you, I bet.” Li Lingmeng looked at Xue Poran with some worry.

“I’ll be fine. I asked for Ah-He to buy me some books so I won’t be bored. Besides, I still need to make up for my absence and prepare lessons for when I come back. I have been relaxed for far too long, it’s time for me to get back to work soon.” Xue Poran waved her hand helplessly.

“Ehhh…you have to prepare the lessons? Being a teacher is much harder than I thought. Wen Jiexi scratched her head and said. She was brought to Xue Poran’s room by Li Lingmeng before. There were a lot of books in there. At that time, Xue Poran had said all those books were for her job. Wen Jiexi had looked at those books and almost cried. Sure enough, not only did the students suffer but the teacher as well. 

Vacations go by really fast and it makes one lazy. This can be seen by the fact that Wen Jiexi felt like dying when she was forced to wake up early in the morning. 

Su Chenyu had called Wen Jiexi’s name several times and even when she was washing her face she would poke her head out of the bathroom and yell her name. However, it didn’t seem to work. The little sheep was still sleeping sweetly even after Su Chenyu was finished getting ready. Su Chenyu looked at the time and then at the little sheep in front of her. 

What to do? Should she let the little sheep sleep a little longer? But then they would both be late? If it was during any other time she would definitely give in and stay in bed all day with the little sheep and then….

“Wuu….” The sleeping Wen Jiexi frowned slightly as if she could sense the mischievous thoughts in Su Chenyu’s head. Her lips moved slightly and they looked rather inviting to Su Chenyu. 

Su Chenyu narrowed her eyes and accepted the “invitation” happily as she bent down and kissed Wen Jiexi lightly on the lips. 

Wen Jiexi, who had been dreaming a sweet dream of eating a delicious feast, felt something block her lips. She tried to move away, but couldn’t do anything but accept it. 

She felt something on her chest and finally opened her eyes reluctantly, to see Su Chenyu’s beautiful and smiling face up close and personal. Seeing that the other party’s eyes were finally open, Su Chenyu pulled away. 

“Huuu…..huuuu….” Wen Jiexi gasped for breath and then pursed her lips as she glared at Su Chenyu, her eyes seemed to say, ‘what are you doing? Are you trying to murder me?!’

“It’s time to get up, lazy piglet. It’s already well past eight o’clock.” Su Chenyu only pinched Wen Jiexi’s nose helplessly in response. 

“What?!! It’s already eight?” Wen Jiexi glanced at the clock behind her, and just like Su Chenyu had said, it was way past the time she should’ve gotten up. She immediately jumped up, “Wuwuwu, it’s way too late! How am I going to have any time to eat my breakfast now?”

Dango and Su Chenyu: That last sentence seems to be your main concern. 

Wen Jiexi washed up at an inhuman speed and when she walked out of the bathroom, she smelled the sweet aroma of food in the air. She clutched her grumbling belly as she ran over to Su Chenyu. 

“Hurry up and eat. It won’t taste good when it’s cold.” Su Chenyu handed over a bun to Wen Jiexi. 

“It’s delicious.” Wen Jiexi took a bite of the bun and then a sip of freshly ground soy milk before smiling in content. 

“Then you should eat some more. There are many different flavors and many side dishes as well.” Su Chenyu said while patting Wen Jiexi’s head. 

“Ok!”

Knock. Knock. 

Wen Jiexi looked over at the door, who would be knocking at their door at this time in the morning? 

Opening the door, she was greeted with Li Lingmeng’s smiling face. 

“Hehe, Little Xi, you don’t mind if we eat breakfast together, do you?” 

Wen Jiexi chewed her steamed buns and looked behind Li Lingmeng. There were several behind Li Lingmeng and Wen Jiexi merely nodded and let them all in. Anyhow, it was more fun to eat together than by yourself. 

An angry tick mark appeared on Su Chenyu’s forehead. Didn’t these idiots have fun annoying her little sheep during vacation? How come they can’t even let her at least have breakfast alone with her lover? Why do they always ruin her alone time with her lover!!

Unfortunately for Su Chenyu, after experiencing her chilling gaze several times now, they had gotten used to it. Now, they only felt like she was an air conditioner excluding cold air and grew a thick skin as they ignored her. Their attitudes only infuriated Su Chenyu even more that she wanted to slam their faces into the table every time. 

“Ah, sure enough, the food here is always the best!” 

“And it’s just out of the oven too! Awesome!”

“It’s fun to eat together, come, let’s eat and talk!: 

Su Chenyu: All of you, get out of my sight!

A day of filming quickly passed by and Wen Jiexi chewed on a biscuit as she sat in Su Chenyu’s dressing room. Today, Director Peng had a serious conversation with her. Because of her rather abrupt leave of absence, there will be many more scenes to catch up on and the filming will be a little bit heavy for her. So he asked her to practice with Su Chenyu privately in the dressing room so they could speed up the filming. 

Wen Jiexi naturally nodded and agreed to his request. She couldn’t disagree anyway because she is still a newcomer that can only listen obediently. 

“Sister Su, I need to go to the bathroom real quick! Wait outside for me please!” Wen Jiexi said to Su Chenyu. 

“En, come back quickly.” Su Chenyu nodded, took a sip from the glass of water in her hand, and then picked up the script she had laid to the side to continue reading. 

Wen Jiexi quickly made her way to the public bathroom outside but was unexpectedly surrounded by a few actresses from the same crew as her. 

“This…what are you guys doing?” Wen Jiexi asked in surprise. She quickly scanned the group of them. After receiving training from Su Chenyu, she knew most of these actresses’ names and the few of them in front of her could be considered the good ones out of the entire crew. 

“This…Jiexi, I mean, Little Sheep, my little sister is a big fan of yours and she asked me to get an autograph from you. So can you…” The leader started with some embarrassment. After all, for an actress to ask another actress for an autograph, it was somewhat awkward. But for the sake of her lovely little sister, she will stomach this embarrassment! 

“Ah? Of course, I can.” Wen Jiexi said, scratching her head, and then she signed several autographs for the group of actresses. She even took a few selfies with them and one of them apparently liked Wen Jiexi a lot because she pinched Wen Jiexi’s cheeks for a long time. Wen Jiexi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. What was going on? 

“Alright, alright, enough girls. Jiexi, aren’t you done with filming for today? Why are you still here? Are you looking for Director Peng?” The leading actress looked at Wen Jiexi’s sorry appearance and came to the rescue by stopping her fellow actresses. 

“No, I just needed to go to the bathroom” Wen Jiexi said embarrassedly. The bathroom is located between the director’s room and the actors’ dressing rooms so it was to be expected that people would think she was going to see the Director. 

“Ah, then we’ll get out of your way.” 

“Sorry, we bothered you for so long….” 

“It’s fine, it’s all good.” Wen Jiexi waved her hand quickly.

“Then you should get going. We should go now. Thank you for the autographs.” The actress nodded to Wen Jiexi and said. 

“You’re welcome.” Wen Jiexi watched these actresses leave and scratched her head. She was rather shocked, why are there so many people asking her for autographs. She’s not even that famous! She’s just a newcomer! 

Fan: It’s because you’re so cute! 

Wen Jiexi: Are you looking for a fight? 

Fan: Awww, what a cute tsundere!

Wen Jiexi: Hmph. 

Meanwhile, in her room, Su Chenyu was still reading the script. She looked at the time and found it strange that more than ten minutes had passed yet Wen Jiexi was still not back yet. She felt a little anxious but she believed that her little sheep wouldn’t get lost and if something happened, her people would tell her. Her little sheep probably just had a stomach ache. 

At this moment, Su Chenyu’s phone rang, and she looked at the called id. It was from Lin Yunxi. 

“Hey, what’s the matter?” 

“Little Su, you sent a message earlier saying you wanted some food from the Royal Dumpling House. I’m here now, but you forgot to tell me what type of dumplings you want. Do you need me to send some pictures to you?” Lin Yunxi said while wiping her sweat. She had been sorting things earlier when she received a text message from Su Chenyu. Originally, she was puzzled that Su Chenyu would use a text message as she usually just called her. But then she thought that perhaps Su Chenyu was busy at the moment and could only send a text. Fortunately, it was only a few blocks away from set and it only took ten minutes to get there. However, then she realized the order was somewhat incomplete. The text only said she wanted dumplings but what about the flavor of the dumplings? 

Does Little Su usually text so vaguely like this? Lin Yunxi frowned slightly then but then thought it was just a mistake as it would’ve been impossible for anyone but Su Chenyu to have used Su Chenyu’s mobile phone to send a message. So Lin Yunxi decided to call the person in question instead. 

“Dumplings?” Su Chenyu raised an eyebrow when she heard Lin Yunxi’s words? 

“Huh? Didn’t Little Su ask me to go out and buy dumplings when I was sorting things? You also said that you would eat them as soon as you finished shooting, so I ran out quickly.” Lin Yunxi’s heart began to beat rapidly when she heard Su Chenyu’s reply. 

Su Chenyu suddenly felt dizzy as she shivered slightly. Her head started to ache too. 

“Little Su? Sister Su?” Lin Yunxi called out worriedly. 

“Were you the one who poured the water into the glass on my table?” Su Chenyu supported her dizzy head and looked at the glass of water she had taken a sip of earlier. She thought that Lin Yunxi had poured the water so it should be safe enough to take a sip from. 

“Water? What water? Before I went out, I cleared the table so how could there be any….” Lin Yunxi replied but her voice got quieter as she spoke and her pupils shrank. She had fallen for the enemy’s trap! But who would dare to attack Little Su? 

“Call my people….” Su Chenyu barely squeezed out these words when her phone fell to the ground and her body slumped onto the table. 

“Little Su, Little Su! Miss Su!” Lin Yunxi shouted anxiously to the phone. She realized that everyone was staring at her now and she gritted her teeth as she hung up the phone and carried out Su Chenyu’s last order to her. She dialed Wang Anyi’s number. 

“Hey, Yunxi, what’s up?” Wang Anyi quickly answered the phone. 

“Sister Wang, something has happened to Little Su!” 

“What?!” Wang Anyi was discussing things with Xue Molin and now she slapped her table and stood up anxiously. She looked at Xue Molin’s startled gaze and immediately put her phone on speaker. 

“Explain!” 

“This…” 

Meanwhile, Su Chenyu was frowning as she tried to stand up but was too dizzy and lacked any strength. She opened her mouth to yell for help but only a faint sound came out. When Su Chenyu was about to lose consciousness, she saw that the door had opened quietly and a few figures came in. They stretched out a hand towards her. The moment she closed her eyes, only one person was on her mind. 

Little Xi….come back quickly….

In the bathroom not far away, Wen Jiexi, who was washing her hands, suddenly clutched her chest. What happened? Why did she suddenly feel so uneasy?
