The Transmigration Missions Are Not Scientific Ch.75

Chapter 75- ABO Interstellar (5)

Gu Anran propped her head chin on her hand as she listened to the female teacher standing on the podium introduce and explain the different parts of a mecha. There was even a three-dimensional image floating in the air above them so when the teacher wished to talk about a specific part, the image would zoom in and show everyone what she was talking about. Along with zooming in on the image, it also automatically sends a little excerpt about the mecha’s part and its details to the students which they can read as they follow along to the teacher. However, for Gu Anran, she was able to memorize the information in the excerpt they were provided rather easily and therefore didn’t even need to pay attention to the teacher as all the information was already memorized in her brain. Fortunately, the teacher’s voice was not completely monotone, or else she might’ve fallen asleep by now.

Gu Anran scanned the class. There were four hundred students in the Mecha Manufacturing and Engineering Department, which was divided into a total of ten classes, with omegas making up the majority of the students with the rest being betas. There were only about 100 betas compared to the 300 omegas, but the one thing they had in common was that all of their mental powers were A-level or above. They had a roughly equal number of males and females, with even some of the rare male omegas in their class.

Out of curiosity, she probed the other omegas’ with her mental power and found that compared to alphas, omegas had a weaker sense of presence and was much less oppressive feeling.

As Gu Anran observed her classmates in her boredom and ignored that Hong Qingyi who was sleeping with her eyes open, the teacher finally finished giving her general introduction of the class. Of course, the class was not over yet as the hands-on training part of the class was just about to begin.

Gu Anran looked down at the bundle of parts in front of each person. Only then did she understand just how difficult it was to assemble a mecha. There were a total of 64 parts in the first-level mecha with each part in an assortment of different sizes. Some were as large as half a person and other parts were as small as a pinky. Their first task was to assemble the mecha by themselves and once they got the hang of it, they must use their mental power to assemble all the parts without physically touching it.

According to the textbook, assembling a mecha with mental power is more than five times faster than manually doing so with your hands. And after about one month of practice, that assembling speed can become even faster. The current record for assembling a first-level mecha was exactly two minutes, which was an impressive record in itself.

However, there was just one big question about all of this. A mecha can weigh up to hundreds of kilograms, so how can the delicate omega lift such a thing up…..but they had to because it was a part of their curriculum! Technically, they did have the strength to lift it one by one but an omega’s strength will quickly be exhausted. Just how long will it take them to assemble the final product?

“We’ll start with the smaller parts first and you can assemble these with your hands first before trying it with your mental power later.” The teacher pointed at the smaller parts that laid in the center with a serious face.

“And don’t underestimate these smaller parts. These parts are the core of the entire mecha and if you make even a single mistake, the mecha can become a defective product. If the mecha malfunctions and causes its pilot to die, the manufacturer of the mecha will be held responsible.”

Whaa! So serious! Gu Anran picked up a few parts and started to assemble them according to the teacher’s instructions and the other students did the same.

As she practiced a few more times, her previously jerky movements became smoother and finally, she put down the parts in her hand to pick up the smallest part to play with absentmindedly.

Hong Qingyi on the other side also stood up and looked at Gu Anran.

Hong Qingyi: Should we eat lunch in the dorms or in the cafeteria today?

Gu Anran: Hmm… Let’s go back to my dorm to eat. I asked someone to put a table in the courtyard for me, so we can enjoy the scenery and eat outside.

Hong Qingyi: Do you want to invite Qingli and Mengyan to lunch?

Gu Anran: Of course, why else do you think I ordered someone to set up a table outside?

Hong Qingyi: Ok, I will contact them now.

Gu Anran watched as Hong Qingyi clicked on the device installed in her left wrist and then made an ok gesture towards her after typing out a few things. Gu Anran nodded, she understood that Mu Qingli and the others had accepted their invitation.

She pursed her lips. It’s not like that they didn’t want to eat in the cafeteria; there were just too many people in there. Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi’s identities meant there were always people trying to flatter and approach them for various reasons. No matter if they were from different departments or in different grades, there were always people trying to flatter and lick their shoes. After all, who doesn’t want to have a good relationship with the royal family’s favorite little princess and the only child of the prime minister’s family? A minimal relationship can lead to a smooth career. If you don’t flatter, aren’t you the stupid one?

Of course, most who came up to talk to them were alphas and often they came bearing flowers and other gifts. Furthermore, a lot of them were senior students who were held back. This was because the pairing system in the academy is not limited by grades. Since the mecha piloting department often had more people than the manufacturing and engineering department, there were always a few left out in that year’s selections. So a lot of them would come to visit the lower grades to try their luck and find a partner. Therefore, Gu Anran, Hong Qingyi, and the other three omegas with mental powers of SS-level and above were prime targets for these seniors.

Because of this, the two of them had to make a tactical retreat from the cafeteria. Every time they went they would be blocked, do these people have even an ounce of common sense? They might not want to eat, but she does! At that point, should they continue eating at the cafeteria? Are you kidding? No way!

In fact, she had to hold back her urge to slap their faces when they blocked her. If it was just the women, then it was still fine, but the men were not so restrained and acted like hairy apes who found an oasis in the desert. If it weren’t for Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan guarding them from behind, who knows how many times they would’ve been taken advantage of!

It makes one angry just thinking about it! So in the end, they decided to have the meals be delivered to Gu Anran’s dorms instead. Sometimes they would eat the food that Gu Anran brought with her or ask Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan to get some takeout from the cafeteria.

“Alright, everyone is probably familiarized with the assembling procedure by now. Next, we will operate without our hands and try assembling with our mental power.” After saying so, the teacher’s eyes moved to the parts in front of her and a few seconds later the parts began to float up into the air and were quickly assembled together.

Goddamn! Amazing! Simply a superpower! Gu Anran took a look at the assembled parts in front of her. Could she do it too?

“Focus on the materials in front of you. Treat your mental power as an extension of your arm. First, try and levitate the smallest part and then work your way up. Don’t worry, as long as you work hard and continue to practice, you will be able to do it!” The teacher encouraged them from the podium.

Gu Anran stared at the parts in front of her….hmm, like an extension of her arm? She tried to imagine her mental power as a part of her arm and the feeling was simply….wonderful. Something seemed to have seeped out of her mind and slowly spread out of Gu Anran’s arms. Then slowly moved towards the part Gu Anran was staring at. Move, come on, move! Gu Anran said in her heart.

Ka-da….it moved! This little movement made Gu Anran’s heart jump. Then she continued to focus until the small part was able to float in front of her. She was even able to control her mental power to make the small part circle around her.

“Very good! It seems that many students have succeeded!” The teacher clapped her hands happily. Gu Anran noticed that many of the students were able to move their parts but only she and Hong Qingyi were able to freely move the parts so that it circled around them. It seems that the strength of one’s mental power was indeed rather important.

“For the lot of you, it should not be difficult to control a part or two, but you must learn how to control all 64 parts and assemble them at the same time. You must learn to multi-task with your mental power!”

At the same time…..at the same time!! One must know that the first-level mecha with its 64 parts is the easiest to assemble. The second-level mecha had 128 parts, the third level had 256 and as one continued to move up, the mechas would have over a thousand parts one must assemble together! Gu Anran felt tired just thinking about it.

“The curriculum we teach here at the academy is rather simple so I will only be giving you some basic knowledge and information. Most of the assembly must be done by yourself and you must become proficient by practicing. Only through hard work can you succeed. Now, I will assign your homework. There are enough parts here to make 400 first-level mechas. Within this week, you must be able to assemble at least three mechas. Those who do not succeed will have to run ten laps around the track.” The teacher then said a terrible thing with an indifferent voice.

10 laps around the track. The track here is different from the ones on earth as it was over three times the size of a regular track. One lap around the track was close to 1 kilometer so ten laps were equal to ten kilometers! For an alpha student, running laps was an essential part of the training and a trivial part of their training set. Gu Anran had seen Mu Qingli running many times and there was barely any sweat on her face and she was not out of breath at all!

But for a delicate omega, this was simply condemning them to hell! They will die if they’re forced to run! Who would have thought that this teacher was so black-bellied? To be able to think up of such a painful punishment…..

However, the teacher’s words were not finished as she continued to speak with a creepy smile on her face.

“Of course, I don’t mind if you cheat on your assignment. Go ahead and pay someone to do the work for you. If you are able to successfully fool me when I check it then I won’t say anything, but if you fail to do so….our beautiful school track is awaiting your presence. Your punishment will be increased to 20 laps…per person, for both you and your hired helper~~” After saying this sentence, the teacher strode out of the classroom. Then she suddenly poked her head back through the doorway,

“Ah, by the way, all students will be tested on the track for all to see so if someone causes me to lose face, then…heng~” The teacher sneered so coldly that it made all the students tremble. Finally, the teacher blew the class a kiss and gave them a wink before leaving one last sentence,

“Your materials have already been delivered to your dorms. A pity, but there was no other way as you weak little chickens would be unable to move all the parts back yourselves!”

This was plain and naked contempt! Ahhhhh! Gu Anran wanted to flip the table over but there was no table in front of her to flip and the parts in front of her were too expensive and precious to risk. A moment of satisfaction will not be worth the heartbreak when she gets the bill….

“Let’s go, nothing else we can do.” Hong Qingyi patted Gu Anran on the shoulder and smiled bitterly. Who would have thought that they would get such an eccentric teacher? Does that mean their luck is good or is it bad?

What they didn’t know was that this teacher was the most stubborn teacher in the entire academy. Also, the teacher that cared about their reputation the most. She was known for saying: “In the past, I’ve been mocked and ridiculed as the ‘forever second place’, therefore the students I teach must only get first place! As for the other rankings or places….we don’t want it!”.

Let us take this moment of silence to pray for the ignorant Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi. Let us hope that they do not receive any trauma from this academy.

While they were unaware of the miserable school life that was awaiting them, they happily rushed to the dorms to each lunch with Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan. They’ll enjoy a peaceful afternoon tea together~ In their hearts, the teacher’s homework was very easy to do. As long as they practice with their mental power a little bit, all of their problems will be resolved! Who’s fault was it that they have a higher-leveled mental power? This is all based on a person’s character~ ╮(╯◇╰)╭.

One must pity the poor students who are crying bitterly over the hard homework. If they knew what Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi were thinking right now, they would most definitely beat both of them all, regardless of their identity.
