Chapter 80- ABO Interstellar (10)

“The mecha combat battle is now over.” The voice over the broadcast sounded. The robots all stopped moving one by one, regardless if they were defeated or not. Slowly they sank back down into the ground and the track field returned to its original state. 

“May the piloting students please put your mechas away.” 

Shuaaa……

All the mechas disappeared at once. 

“Now then, the most important and exciting moment of the pairing event.” The headmaster’s voice sounded again. Who knows when the headmaster moved for now she was no longer sitting but standing up with her hands behind her back. The moment her words landed, the students of the piloting department became agitated and their gazes grew excited. They all looked hungirly at the students of the engineering department. 

What is this situation??????

“May the pairing begin!” The headmaster said. 

In an instant, every student of the piloting department began rushing towards the engineering students. 

The fu*k!!! What is going on??!!

Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi were standing together and so they watched as over 50 people rushed towards their direction. The looks in their eyes were way too scary, ok?!!! 

Not to mention, while they ran with all their might towards them, these people actually began dragging their opponents down. They punched, kicked, pulled, and basically did anything to slow down their other opponents. 

“Why are you standing there in the daze! Hurry up and move!” Gu Anxin shouted out to the dumbfounded pair and ran over to drag them out of the stampede. 

“This….what is this?!!” Gu Anran exclaimed in surprise.

“This kind of scene happens every year. It’s a regular tradition. Your Huang-jie also faced a similar situation before. I had to send a lot of people flying to be able to snatch her up.” Gu Anxin laughed.

She dragged the two of them to a tree and then threw them upwards. Before gravity could pull them down again, Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi found themselves being hugged by a warm and familiar embrace. 

Gu Anran raised her eyes to see Mu Qingli’s side profile in front of her. 

“You…..” Gu Anran looked at Mu Qingli in astonishment and then at the other students grouped below. Was this all calculated beforehand?

“Anran…..” Mu Qingli whispered. The soft body in her arms emitted a faint lemon scent and Mu Qingli had to suppress the restlessness in her heart. 

“En…are we…are we going to stay up here the entire time?” Although Mu Qingli hid her feelings very well, Gu Anran was sensitive to the other’s emotional fluctuations and saw the blazing heat in Mu Qingli’s eyes which made her feel rather bashful and embarrassed. 

“No, all we need to do is….” Mu Qingli pressed the chip in her wrist against Gu Anran’s wrist. A few seconds later, there was a loud beep and the two chips in their wrists flashed a green light before disappearing in a flash. 

On the other side, Hong Qingyi and Chi Mengyan did the same. 

“Pairing confirmed between SSS-rank Omega, Gu Anran, and SSS-rank Alpha, Mu Qingli. Pairing confirmed between SS-rank Omega, Hong Qingyi , and SS-rank Alpha, Chi Mengyan. Pairing confirmed between SSS-rank Omega, Duan Hongwu , and SS-rank Alpha, Song Wenyan.  Pairing confirmed between A-rank Omega, Sun Shang, and S-rank Alpha, Lu Renjia.”

Who knows if it was coincidence or intentional, but the broadcast announced the pairs of Gu Anran, Mu Qingli, Hong Qingyi, Chi Mengyan, Duan Hongwu, and Song Wenyan simultaneously, one after the other. The originally noisy crowd suddenly went quiet as they listened to the broadcasted words. 

“Fu*k your mother! Who the fu*k is that!”

“No wonder they disappeared so suddenly!” 

“They must have used a loophole!”

Some of the crowd swore loudly, including the five alphas that were originally introduced by Gu Anlun. All of them had bruised and scratched faces and their clothes were messy and torn from all the pulling. However, none of this dissuaded the obsessive and determined gazed on their faces. 

Gi Anran narrowed her eyes. It seems that these people will not give up and continue to mess with her even after she is paired with Mu Qingli. If they dare to hurt her Qingli….it doesn’t matter who their grandfather is, Gu Anran won’t hesitate to destroy them. She believes that the royal family won’t mind taking back their power or adding a huge amount of “confiscated” goods to the royal treasury. 

About half an hour later, the event was basically over. Most of the students in the engineering department were matched with an Alpha or Beta, but a large number of the piloting students were still unmatched. And even though they were officially paired together, some outstanding alphas still wouldn’t give up on looking for Gu Anran, Hong Qingyi or Duan Hongwu. After all, before the event is over, the pairing can still be changed. 

Once the person is found, they just have to beat up the alpha, show off their strength and then embrace the beauty! These alphas had hearts full of calculating thoughts, but Gu Anran and the others will not give these people a chance.

They hid in the tree the entire time and refused to come down. They simply sat in the tree to observe the others’ movements. 

“Once the pairing is confirmed, may the paired alphas and omegas please stand in the middle of the field. Those who are still unpaired, please stand to the side.” 

With these words announced, Mu Qingli had no choice as she hugged Gu Anran and jumped out of the tree. 

Gu Anran, who suddenly appeared in the open, felt countless admiring and envious gazes on her. However, would Gu Anran care about them? Of course not! As long as she is paired with Mu Qingli, she couldn’t care less about anyone else! 

Mu Qingli was holding Gu Anran’s hand and thoroughly enjoying the soft and warm touch. She was quite satisfied both emotionally and physically. Furthermore, not willing to be outdone, she glared coldly at all the alphas who were coveting after her Anran. Just they wait, for she will clean these trash up soon enough! 

A total of 500 pairs were created and those leftover engineering students that appeared in the open were quickly snatched up as well. The scene was rather chaotic as the piloting students fought over the last few engineering students. 

Now a total of 600 pairs stood proudly in the middle and Gu Anran could feel the deep jealousy and envy of those still unmatched. Without an engineering student paired with them, a piloting student can not go far in their career. They need engineering students to maintain or create mechas for them, it was impossible for the piloting students to be alone. 

Unless you can toughen up your skin to ask someone else’s partner to help you, one can only ask a teacher for help. And the price for asking is very high. If it’s not running errands for the teacher, then it was promising to become your teacher’s follower. In short, the pairing was very important. After all, not everyone can throw things away their faces to ask people for help over and over again. After a few more times, even those with thick skins will feel embarrassed. 

“Let’s congratulate the people who have successfully been paired up, however, the real challenge starts now. Only the strong will survive while the weak are to be eliminated. The strong must match with the strong. This is the purpose for our academy’s pairing system in the first place. Now then, may the students standing to the side ask a teacher to arrange a match with the person you want to challenge. A student may only be challenged a total of ten times. After successfully finishing 10 challenges, the student may no longer accept any more challenges. The challenger has three chances but cannot challenge the same pairing more than once. Now then, let’s begin.” 

Gu Anran breathed a sigh of relief. So that’s how it works! So Qing Li might have to fight against ten different people, regardless of age or the level of their mental power! At least it wasn’t a battle royale type of challenge, or else someone might actually be able to come between them! Gu Anran breathed a sigh of relief. 

Very soon, many challengers came to stand in front of them. The first one was an SS-rank Alpha that Gu Anlun introduced earlier, a man named Xue Yong who looked at Mu Qingli arrogantly with a face full of disdain. 

“Hmph, you’re mental power is only a little bit higher than mine! Don’t think you can win just because of that! I advise you to surrender directly. Otherwise, don’t come crying to me with your ugly face when you’re beaten up! Then you’ll become a joke for the rest of your life! As your senior, I will give you this chance to surrender!” Xue Yong seemed to have given a great gift, and slightly lifted his chin into the air. It was as if he was looking down Mu Qingli from a high place, but….he was shorter than Mu Qingli! 

Xue Yong is actually half a head shorter than Mu Qingli, which is considered somewhat short among alphas. At this moment, his action of looking down his nose on someone painted a rather ridiculous sight. 

Gu Anran sneered silently. Does this Xue Yong have a broken brain or perhaps a hole in it? How is he so confident that he can defeat Qingli? Because he has gone to the academy for one more year than her? What a joke! 

Xue Yong noticed Gu Anran’s gaze, and thought that Gu Anran was admiring his handsome(?) gaze. He believed she was showing favor to him. Although their first meeting was not so pleasant, an omega is still an omega. Who wouldn’t like a strong alpha like him? So handsome and chic, of course the princess would like someone like him! 

Then he looked at Mu Qingli and snorted coldly in his heart. This alpha is simply a stepping stone for him to show off in front of the princess! If an SS-rank alpha defeats an SSS-rank alpha, then his reputation will soar in the future! His career will become even more prosperous! If he can marry the princess, then he will become the rising star of the academy! Xue Yong was quite excited at the thought and flashed a despicable smile at Gu Anran while sweeping his bangs to the side. His actions received Gu Anran’s admiring(?) gaze (and an eye roll full of contempt+disgust+nausea+grossed out feeling). 

Mu Qingli clenched her fists, her heart full of anger. The first time they met this person was coveting after her Anran, and this time he was even bothering to hide his disgusting gaze that he placed on Anran. He wants her to surrender Anran to him? Hmph, dream on!

“Let’s begin.” Despite the flames of anger in her heart, Mu Qingli gestured politely at Xue Yong to follow her. 

“You….you are unable to recognize my good intentions!” Xue Yong didn’t expect that his merciful words would be ignored by the other party! He immediately felt that he had lost face in front of the princess (you didn’t have any in the first place, alright? ←←) and fiercely pointed a trembling finger at Mu Qingli,

“Good, just you wait! You’ll regret this! I will beat you up so much until you’re on your knees and calling me your father!” 

Mu Qingli ignored Xue Yong’s taunting. To her, Xue Yong was just a clown with a sick brain. 

She reluctantly let go of Gu Anran’s hand and said with a smile, “Anran, I’ll be back soon.” 

“Ok.” Gu Anran nodded and removed a leaf stuck in Mu Qingli’s hair. Her actions made Mu Qingli’s cheeks flush and made Xue Yong even more angry. 

Those angry red eyes looked like they wanted to pounce on Mu Qingli and tear her into pieces.
