Xue Yong, who made a fool of himself during the match with Mu Qingli, was currently thinking about how to retaliate against her. However, because of the bet they had made, he could not get close to Mu Qingli. It was at this moment that he saw Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi. He glanced around and seeing that there was no Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan around, his mood brightened.

Why is it him again! Why do they always encounter such trash whenever they go out! 

Although Gu Anran felt thoroughly disgusted in her heart, she still had to behave with grace. After all, there were still many students around them. If she cussed him out and drove him away like a shrew, these people would become witnesses and her reputation would probably worsen. 

“I wish to invite the both of you to dinner.” Xue Yong made some quick calculations in his heart. As long as he can persuade the two of them to eat dinner with him and then drug their drinks, then he could….hehehehe. At that time, the Princess and Miss Hong would have no choice but to marry him for the sake of the royal family and the prime minister family’s faces. You can tell simply by the evil light flickering in his wicked eyes. At this moment, Hong Qingyi really wanted to take out a mecha and smash it into his disgusting face. 

“Then what about tomorrow? Tomorrow is my birthday. I will invite some friends to celebrate, and I hope Princess and Miss Hong can drop by. For my birthday, I will prepare a lot of food and other delicacies that will definitely entertain you both.” Xue Yong said with a smile. 

Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi glanced at each other. The other party had already said so much, if they were to refuse again it would be seen as a breach in manners. But they really didn’t want to go! Should they just turn around and leave now? 

“What are you doing?” An unfamiliar voice suddenly intervened. 

Several people turned their heads towards the source and saw a handsome man about 30 years old standing behind them.

“G-General Ji.” Xue Yong saw the face of the incoming person and the smile on his face disappeared. His face was not full of admiration and respect as he saluted Ji Zijun in the proper military fashion. 

Ji Zijun was considered to be the youngest man to have received the “God of War” title and can be said to tbe the dream lover of all omegas and betas, as well as the idol of all alphas. 

But…..why is the male villain so handsome and righteous looking?! This must be a mistake! Xue Yong looked more like a villain instead!

「Ding! Please don’t doubt the system, the system is so smart and cute, it wouldn’t make such low-level mistakes.」

Yet, you often do make such mistakes! Gu Anran insulted the system silently in her heart. 

“Do you still need anything?” Ji Zijun looked at Xue Yong with a cold indifference. He had clearly seen that this alpha was harassing these two omegas. He hates this type of behavior the most, but what caught his eye is that of the two omegas, one of them was actually the most favored little princess of the royal family. This omega….if he can get her, he will be one step closer to the throne! 

That’s right~ You can’t judge a person by their appearance, for Ji Zijun is actually a very ambitious person. In his eyes, the “God of War” title was nothing. “Princess, Miss Hong, long time no see.” Ji Zijun put on a gentle smile. He had met the little princess and Hong Qingyi several times, but the last time he saw them they were both little girls. He hasn’t seen them for a few years and the little girl has grown up into a slender and elegant young woman. She has become even more tantalizing than before. 

“Thank you, Major General Ji.” Gu Anran nodded politely. Although this man before her looks upright, since he’s the male villain, then there is a good chance that he is not as good as he seems. With how honest his appearance looked, it seems he has hidden his true self quite deeply. So one must tread carefully! 

“That was nothing. If an alpha dares to treat an omega like that, anyone would’ve stepped in.” Ji Zijun scratched his head sheepishly 

Actually, none of the people who passed by just now had stopped to help Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi. After all, from afar and in passing, the three of them seemed to be having a pleasant conversation and they did not need any help at all. However, from Ji Zijun’s words, he must have watched them for a long time. If he had wanted to help out of the goodness of his heart, he would’ve done so the moment he saw them. It seems this person’s schemes are hidden rather deep…..

Gu Anran squinted and gave Hong Qingyi a look. Hong Qingyi nodded in understanding. 

“Then, Major General Ji, we will be leaving first. It’s getting late so it’s time to go back.” 

“I’ll send you back then! I don’t have anything else to do anyways, and what if another alpha was to bother you after I leave?” Ji Zijun smiled, and his eyes motioned to the tree not too far away where Xue Yong was hiding behind and carefully observing them. 

“….Alright, then we’ll have to trouble Major General Ji.” Gu Anran pursed her lips and sighed inwardly. This old ginger is still quite spicy!* (T/N: a saying that means that an old person is still quick-minded, experienced, full of tricks or strength despite their old age. Lol, I love how their calling Ji Zijun old even though he’s 30-ish)

Meanwhile, Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan had finished training and went home to take a shower. They then went to the cafeteria to pick out some meals they could enjoy with Anran and Qingyi. 

Along the way, they heard people speak of the return of Major General Ji. If it was before, they would have been filled with admiration at the sight of him, but when they saw him walking and laughing with Anran and Qingyi, they were not as happy. 

Based on an alpha’s sensitive intuition, Mu Qingli picked up a feeling that Ji Zijun’s intentions towards Anran was a little off. Although the feeling passed by quickly, for such a feeling to come up so suddenly out of nowhere, there must have been a reason. 

Beside her, Chi Mengyan could feel the frustration coming from her best friend and her eyes narrowed at Ji Zijun. Not even the “God of War” can steal her friend’s girl! Besides, just because he is the “God of War” now doesn’t mean he will be in the future!

“Mengyan!” Hong Qingyi brightened immediately when she saw Chi Mengyan. She quickly ran over, but Gu Anran couldn’t do the same and simply smiled apologetically at Ji Zijun before walking forward quickly. 

“Anran, where did you go?’ Mu Qingli asked as she gently brushed Gu Anran’s hair, but her eyes secretly glanced at Ji Zijun. As expected, he had raised his eyebrows at her movements. Although Mu Qingli’s movements were subtle, he felt that if he looked closely something was wrong. So he immediately put up his guard against Mu Qingli. 

“Anran, who is this?” Ji Zijun asked. 

“This is my partner, a piloting department freshman, Mu Qingli.” Gu Anran smiled. She didn’t want to tell him Mu Qingli’s rank, in order to prevent Ji Zijun from laying down his tricks in advance. After all, Ji Zijun was only an S-rank Alpha. If he knew that Mu Qingli was SSS-rank, it would be impossible for her to stop him from playing his tricks. 

Of course, Ji Zijun could also get the information from the academy as he has the permission to do so as a Major General. However, from their conversation just now, Ji Zijun will enter the palace soon to report the situation on the Zergs. From his tone, presumably he will not have any time to stay after and by the time he finishes his matters in the palace, they’ll be on another planet for their planetary excursion. If Ji Zijun really tried to stretch his hand into this matter as well, Gu Anran wouldn’t mind exposing all of Ji Zijun’s hidden side. Unless he really was an open and honest person, he definitely had some dark things he wanted to hide. 

Anyhow, the high-tech chip installed into everyone’s wrists really was rather convenient. With her own hacking skills, she doesn’t believe that she wouldn’t be able to dig out every secret hidden beneath the surface. 

Ji Zijun didn’t stay for long. He waved at them and then turned to leave. 

“Anran, Qingyi, why were you with him?” Chi Mengyan asked.

“We were going to the library, but we met Xue Yong. The guy kept begging us to eat dinner with him, and he wanted us to come to his birthday party. Then Major General Ji popped out of nowhere to help us out.” Hong Qingyi shrugged. 

“Xue Yong? He still dares to show his face?” Chi Mengyan asked with raised eyebrows. 

“Damnit, I should’ve told him to stay a 100 meters away from both of us at the time!” Mu Qingli frowned in regret, holding Gu Anran’s hand and then said solemnly, “In the future, let us know where you’re going and we’ll definitely drop everything to help you, and….that Ji Zijun doesn’t seem like a good person….Y-you two should stay away from….” Her face was a little red and she was stuttering a little. She wanted to say more, but she didn’t feel like she was qualified to restrict the relationship between those two. 

“I know, we don’t want anything to do with him either.” Gu Anran smiled mischievously and pinched Mu Qingli’s red ears.

“That’s…that’s good then.” Mu Qingli scratched her head in embarrassment and looked at Gu Anran with bright eyes.
